Every time I listen to Riot I think a lot of the songs don't quite achieve their potential. Let The Flames Begin is the most obvious one but something in the production holds the album back a little for me.
1. bright eyes - cassadaga 2. as cities burn - come now sleep everything else: moving mountains - pneuma dear and the headlights - small steps, heavy hooves modest mouse - we were dead before the ship even sank envy on the coast - lucy gray portugal. the man - church mouth animal collective - strawberry jam wild orchid children - s/t tilly and the wall - bottoms of barrels aesop rock - none shall pass the bled - silent treatment duck duck goose - noise, noise and more noise dillinger escape plan - ire works
What holds Riot! back is its second half. It starts with one of my favorite 5-song runs ever. Thankfully they fixed that on Brand New Eyes and wrote and sequenced a great album from top to bottom
I've never thought of 2008 as being a particularly standout year but I've been checking which albums came out that year and I really don't know how I'm going to narrow this down to three. Some amazing records there. A couple I'm fascinated to look into as well.

"Favorite Record" is my all-time favorite on AB/AP and I have no idea why they never released that as a single.
Pleased to announce that the winner is the soundtrack from High School Musical 2. Get'cha head in the game, guys!
If only there were enough people in here for us all to change our votes last minute to High School Musical 2.
Regret every day that I didn’t try drama in HS. But I also feel like I remember our HS drama club beinf particularly pretentious and picking a bunch of musicals that no one heard of or liked back then lol
i'm not really a fan of dubstep or anything, but this was the record where i was like "okay, i get it"
radiohead's in rainbows wins with 46, bon iver's for emma forever ago had 28, and motion city soundtrack's even if it kills me had 20. chase this light wasn't top 5, kiss my ass.
