I am only now remembering that I did a few dive bar shows with a very talented female singer-songwriter back when and we’d duet “Coconut Skins” and you really can’t ask for much more than that.
I'm going to revisit The Black Parade this weekend. I always considered Three Cheers to be comfortably the best but it's been so long since I listened to TBP.
Three Cheers still my favorite, but TBP is definitely a spectacle that his more than it misses. Danger Days though.... No thanks
I was not on board with Danger Days for the longest time but got into it over the last 2 years or so and love it
you added the word "of" to his post. He's never listened to the album, not has never heard of the album's existence
i meant my response the way he intended it, I'm sure everyone on this site has an idea of the concept of what that album is, whether they listened to it or not and, yeah, not hearing the album in full i guess isn't that crazy. if he hadn't heard any of the singles i would have been a little shocked
I am not really an MCR fan overall, but I’ll vouch for The Black Parade even for a casual like me. They really added some nice glam and cabaret type touches in spots. It also has one of the more inspired guest vocals of all time.
I actually listened to it for the first time recently and the things you mention here are what turned me off. I mean, it’s impressive, but not for me.
Game Theroy is great too. One of the best roots albums. Black thought is one of the most underrated mcs
Every time I ever listen to “Long Time” I ask “is this my favorite rap song of all time?” and then it hits that damn line about taking a dump.
I wasn’t impressed by it back when the album came out and people played it for me, but love it since coming back to the record as a more experienced listener.
The only guest spot that I can think of that can compete in that general era/genre is Elvis Costello on “What a Catch Donnie”
feels safe to call it. black parade wins with 47. arctic monkeys' whatever people say I am that's what I'm not is second with 23 and john mayer's continuum is third with 17. I'm WFH tomorrow so I'll try to post in the morning
