Oh shit I just saw a reminder that This Is Why I'm Hot came out in 07. I'm listening it right now and I'm ready to start some shit.
When starting to peruse my 2007 list, I came across another from '06 that I had forgotten. Shoutout to Envy on the Coast's self-titled debut EP. I honestly have not listened to this in at LEAST 10 years .... but I was certainly big into them in 2006 and 2007. Not sure what ever happened to that band.
Honestly criminal that Fergie wasn't brought up at all. The Dutchess is a classic. I practically made it my personality for like a year in middle school before I decided I was too cool for pop music for several years My vote would've been: 1. The Format: Dog Problems 2. My Chem: Black Parade 3. Fergie: The Dutchess 4. The Killers: Sam's Town 5. Taylor Swift: Taylor Swift 6. This Providence: This Providence 7. Justin Timberlake: FutureSex/LoveSounds Others: All Time Low: Put Up or Shut Up* Beyonce: B'Day John Mayer: Continuum Amy Winehouse: Back to Black The Faming Lips: At War with the Mystics Taking Back Sunday: Louder Now Jenny Lewis & The Watson Twins: Rabbit Fur Coat Red Jumpsuit Apparatus: Don't You Fake It** Hawthorne Heights: If Only You Were Lonely** *Probably would've honestly put it in my top 3 except for the obvious reasons of their shittiness & because it's an EP **I also have to shout out these two. I don't listen to them anymore but they were huge for shifting my music taste and actually seeking out music instead of just listening to whatever I heard on the radio
Hey I mentioned "London Bridge" in my follow up post about songs I remember enjoying for one reason or another in 2006 haha. a VERY good song to dance with your girl to in 2006
I sometimes like Fergie, but I wasn’t a fan of that record. Fergalicious haunted me that year. It was even included in our school play.
What I remember about that was loads of people pointing out that the video to London Bridge was actually filmed outside Tower Bridge, not London Bridge.
I VERY rarely express active dislike of music. Usually I’m just not a fan or it’s not for me. But Fergie’s solo stuff is a war crime.
Alls I know is I was a 18 year old who had a gf that liked to shake it to London bridge so that was good enough for me lol I do remember finding glamorous to be awful. Didn’t they misspell “tasty” in that song? lol
Not that anyone cares, but I forgot that one of my favourite German rap albums of all time came out in 06: Insallah by Manuellsen. Also, the german rap album Big Baus of the Nauf by Samy Deluxe, and the Dutch rap album Negativitijdperk by Negativ, which is also one of my favorites.
It's ok that you guys don't have taste, we can't all be right all the time. Doesn't make the Dutchess less of a classic
I know the votes are over but since I missed this one: 1. Underoath – Define the Great Line 2. mewithoutYou – Brother, Sister 3. Rise Against – The Sufferer and the Witness 4. Clipse – Hell Hath No Fury 5. Fear Before – The Always Open Mouth 6. The Format – Dog Problems 7. Manchester Orchestra – I'm Like a Virgin Losing a Child 8. Arctic Monkeys – Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not 9. Alexisonfire – Crisis 10. Senses Fail – Still Searching
Better late than never....Just realized I don't think any of us remember that The Damnwells came out with Air Stereo this year. I'd like to change my top 3 please lol.
