homme is about as shitty of a person as you can be but saying that album is one of the best rock albums of that decade/last 20 years is about as basic mainline of an opinion that i’ve had in a while
it is a bit funny to me that the same people who told me it’s good that this site isn’t making consensus picks of everywhere else on the web (QOTSA would 100% demolish this album on literally every other website lol) we’re the same ones telling me not to be a crank in the 60s and 70s threads when i would say there were better albums than the beatles or whatever those years lol
i told y’all earlier in the thread this album that sucks would be the one to Jokerfy me. i wasn’t kidding. it’s very bad. i feel like it’s gonna happen the more we get into AP.net era with a lot of albums that have aged like sour milk that people still talk themselves into being good
I think we’ve got one ap.net album (and it’s not from 2003!) I’d be ok with seeing win left so I imagine the forthcoming years are going to be very frustrating indeed. And I guess I should listen to SFTD. Really it was lifted that was robbed.
2003 has such an embarrassment of riches, I hope people find albums to vote for that aren't Deja Entendu.
I get it, I def don't want the votes to count, but I also don't feel the need to lie about what was my favorite album made in 2003. I'm between either just bumping it to 4 with an asterisk, or asking Pat not to count the votes like Chris did with Ryan Adams.
Yeah, I get it. Everyone can draw their own lines and vote for what they want. I just really would prefer that the conversation in the 2003 thread does not tilt toward THAT band.
Agreed that nothing needs to be said that hasn't already been said. No worries there at least from me.
Apropos of nothing Taking Back Sunday (a good band who I like) don't have a single album as good as SFTD
This is where I'm at haha. I'll take Like Clockwork, Rated R, Lullabies, and probably Villains over any other TBS albums too.
