I don't know which ones ive missed, I find out when people start talking about them in the threads.

 

I still don't know how I am going to do the final bracket. I know how to make one but I don't know how to give one out for everyone to fill out. I thought I could steal one from March Madness.

You can vote for Inception tomorrow.

 

Could the bracket thread be broken down into smaller chunks - perhaps 8 match ups, so 16 films at a time, decided randomly to keep it manageable to begin with? Will need 4 “waves” for round 1, but it’ll get quicker.

If the bracket threads stay open 3 days like the regular threads, that would be a decent enough pace to get through the films? Maybe shorten the length if it feels like a lot of dead time or whatever.

If you do from 1960 - 2020 you’ll have 61 films that won their years. You can add three based on whatever metric you want (closest runner up, films you think got a rough deal etc), and that’ll get us to 64 films, which is the perfect number for the bracket.

In many ways, the bracket is the least interesting bit, but that might get more engagement than sending out a big form or whatever.

 

I am planning on using the 61 winners, plus the two years that had a tie, and if there is not another tie by the time we get through the 2010's, we will do a 2021 poll, which would be in November so the year is almost over anyway.

I was hoping to find a website that would let people vote in an interactive bracket. It would close every three days or week and then generate the next round. I might just do it by hand but those first two rounds will be a chore.
