    I think the original unironic “gamers rise up” thing was the “They targeted gamers” post:

    And that guy wasn’t joking but I interpret nearly every subsequent reference to “gamers” as a distinguishable class of people as a joke. Like I’m not sure even gamer gate weirdos go that far lol

    Ahh I’ve never seen this and wish I could go back to not seeing it tbh lmao but yeah I sadly am I surprised that it originated unironically but every instance I’ve ever seen it used (even within “gamer” groups) is satirically. In my opinion it’s such a *chefs kiss* line that is maybe a niche sort of humor so perhaps at the end of the day I guess it’s better to not say it around those who you don’t know if they will get it lol
