i took my cat over to her place and he’s doing fine after a couple days, we’ve got him separated from her cats but they can see each other through a glass door. should be able to start integrating in the next day or two
Downloaded tinder for all of two hours and then deleted. Made me feel weird lmao. Also almost every feature is paywalled, is that standard with these apps?
Nowadays yep Only one I can think of that doesn't paywall is Facebook Dating, but that is so algorithm-fied that you never get decent matches close to you. It just pushes people it thinks you will like 85 miles away.
I used bumble the other day for the first time in a couple years and I was aghast at how expensive any added functionality is. Like $20 to send 2 notes or likes or whatever jfc.
Damn alright. Gonna have to throw some money to the app gods to not be lonely then one of these days lol
Like I spent 80 on a 3 month hinge subscription and all that gets you is the ability to see more people? Still gotta buy extra roses or whatever the hell else. Like damn how can I afford the date if I ever do get a match
i found the ability to filter and unlimited likes to be kinda worth it. but i also met the girl im with while using the free version so who knows
3 months into my first relationship and instead of writing a long diatribe of how healthy and incredible it is, I will just say it's been better than anything I could have dreamed up. The effort and energy is completely matched and the compatibility is beyond anything I ever thought possible. Stay hopeful yall, went 7 years single and had at least a dozen bad first dates and thank god I remained semi-active on Hinge (thanks Mamdani!!) or else I would not have matched with this person. Never been happier in my life.
On my first important boyfriend duty this week though! She travels for the make up brand she works for to open and set up new stores, so I will be sleeping over to take her to the airport at 4 am tomorrow, taking care of her cats during the week, then picking her up sunday night follwoed by going to meet her mom for the first time (who I have already won over because she has noticed how 'centered' her daughter has been while being with me) The cool thing is that shes going to Charleston this time and I just happen to be going to Charleston in 2 weeks for a big family reunion, our relationship has been filled with wild 'coincidences' like this, I'll be able to see the work she did in person. Fucking crazy man.
A somewhat recently divorced friend has revealed he's had some luck on Facebook's thing, whatever it's called. Granted he's a single dad and is mostly just looking to have some fun with (usually) single moms lol, so can't speak to its success in finding a long term relationship with a childless single, but, yeah.
I’ve never had Facebook so I feel like it would be weird to sign up for it just for dating. They’d probably think I’m a serial killer or something
maybe i’m lucky or it’s just Massachusetts area but i’ve never had a bad experience on free Hinge. algo has always shown me people I was interested in and I’ve gone on plenty of good first dates on them. My current partner and I met on it too (one month in!)
Not to detract from all the success stories here which I LOVE but, lol, do any of y’all have experience with seeking legal advice for amicably splitting up assets? It’s really only the house we bought together. If we sell it I feel like that’d be easier but there’s a chance she’d want to stay there and I’d get taken off the mortgage.
Reporting back on Hinge - I think I may prefer the free version honestly. Only getting a few likes a day, being kind of intentional with it, and not just sitting on the app all day swiping or whatever lmao
I'm so head over heels for my best friend of over ten years and I know she doesn't feel the same way and I have no idea what to do because it just sucks
