I truly can’t help but laugh every time I match with a woman on Bumble only for them to never send me a message. Excuse me, do you have any idea what this app is? Out of principle I’m just never going to send the first message there and I refuse to feel bad about it
It's important to remember dating sites don't work for women like they do for men. Two completely different experiences. Women gets 10x the matches we do, which allows more flexibility in who they choose talk to or not talk to. Remember you are not the only match she got. You are not the only message she got. You're probably not the only dude she is DMing with if she does choose to message back. They don't owe you a message just for matching.
I hear you, and believe me, I don’t act that way on any other dating service. But on the one dating service where the whole selling point was “women message first” I can’t feel bad for being frustrated when the person on the other end can’t make a small effort to say even say hello. Maybe that’s changed over the years, but I just can’t get past it. I’ll own that. But still, I’ve matched with a few people this month on other services and always take another look at their profile and respond to something from it, and never hear back. Why even like me in the first place then? I’m not mad at anyone, I know they’ve got plenty of options, and I’m just one of many. It’s just exhausting and I’m venting about it is all.
The women I see on the apps here on Olso are incomprehensibly beautiful/gorgeous, so I simply can't imagine the sheer number of men that like/swipe right on their profiles, that they have to sift through to find the ones they want to engage with. I swipe right on hundreds of women and I get nothing :(
Who’s sending the like that triggers the match? If she was the one to send it first, she could be talking to someone else already / is overwhelmed with matches / not feeling the app that day / is busy irl. Even as a guy, if I’m already talking to someone, and someone else matches with me, I don’t like initiating another conversation as it feels wrong to string people along if one side works out, even if there was nothing wrong with the other person. The 24 hour urgency on Bumble makes it my personal least favorite of the big apps; sometimes things don’t line up for whatever reason within that timeframe and there’s no bad blood. Even if she’s the second to send, something could’ve came up between then or now, or doesn’t have the social bandwidth to engage in a conversation at that particular instance
it probably varies area to area but the most success i ever had on the apps was hinge by a long shot but feeld and tinder were alright. bumble was by far the worst with the lowest hit rate like not even remotely close
I feel like a big detriment to me being on Feeld is I still don't really have a good idea what being a "Brat" really means when like 75% of the girls on there self identify as Brats lol
If you're going to subject yourself to the apps it seems like basic consideration if nothing else to both read profiles and write a descriptive one

i’m moving in with a girl i met on hinge last summer soon so it’s not completely hopeless but yeah it’s a numbers and luck game
anyway sooo yeah i’m gearing up to move into her place in the next few weeks. couple logistical things to consider as we take this step. first of all, we feel ready for it in terms of where the relationship is at, we see each other 6 days out of the week at least and spend hours and hours with each other sometimes doing nothing sometimes doing stuff so we’re comfortable co existing in the same space, we sleepover a couple nights a week and all that and want to do it even more but can’t due to scheduling and routines so yeah we’re ready. but she has two cats and i have one cat so there will have to be a careful introduction period where we keep them separated for a few days before introducing and monitoring how they all get along. she also has her cats on auto feeders so i went and got mine one to get him used to it in the next few weeks before we move in. but im moving into her place because my parents own my condo so i want to give them an opportunity to sell it, plus i feel like moving her two cats to a new space would have much more friction than moving my one cat to a new space. also since my parents own my condo and we’ve discussed it they won’t sell it for another ~six months or so, which gives me an opportunity to take my time moving all my stuff and relieves pressure off us as a couple if things start a little rocky i’ll still have this space to come back to if we need to slow it down a little bit. not that i’m expecting it to be rocky but it’s good to have a plan. i will say ive lived by myself for nearly four years at this point so im sure there will be an adjustment period for sure but we’ve talked about expectations and all that and we are very much aligned. i’m really in love with her and imagine myself building a life with her and this is a crucial first step and we’re very excited about it
So I am on the Spectrum but I mask pretty ok I think, the one thing I cannot mask is my sensory issue when it comes to unexpected touch. Anytime someone touches me from behind or touches me unexpectedly I tense up real hard. It makes flirting with girls in person awkward. "oh I am sorry did I scare you?" Is something I have to deal with all the time.
