Well, happy to say that as of yesterday I am in my first committed relationship in 6 years. Things have been progressing so well naturally and this weekend I was helping her with some car issues and driving her around when she needed, it felt like such relationship stuff we were like, "Let's just do this" lol. We have only been seeing each other twice a week even though we live 2 mins from each other, we are both recovering codependents that want to see each other every waking moment but know it's not healthy. I can't articulate how perfect she is for me and what an incredible person she is, I found someone who is already happy with their own life and I realized in dating that was top priority for me. I am very happy with my own life too and have been for quite some time. I had ChatGPT create some good questions for us to answer for each other next time we see each other as we enter a new relationship and chatgpt really knocked it out of the park with the questions. We both want this to be as strong a relationship as possible and truly feel we are so good for each other. It all feels very surreal, but I have worked my butt off on myself in the past 6 years and have experienced tremendous growth, the main reason I did all that work was for this, a life partner I can do life with.
i’ve been official with my gf for about five months now, we’ve known each other for about nine months and i just have to say i am so head over heels for her and things have been going so well for us lately. we’ve had a few moments of friction and in a couple cases some serious confrontation but in every case we’ve handled conflict in the way you would hope to with someone you want to go the distance with. of our few “fights” we’ve both come away feeling a deeper connection and understanding of each other and our relationship has grown stronger. that’s like absolute best case scenario when it comes to handling conflict in the first six months of a relationship. so i have very high hopes for where this is going. serious conversations have started about moving in and of course what will happen beyond that. still a ways off of course but it’s smart to make sure we’re on the same page with all that stuff before this goes any further. but yeah. she’s so fucking sweet and nice to me and i find myself more engaged and present than i’ve ever been with a partner before. anticipating her needs, doing kind acts of service and planning out time spent with each other deliberately. and it’s very low effort for me to do that since i have such strong feelings for her. it’s truly never been like this before
As much as I want to date, I don’t want to go through the dating process again. My last relationship destroyed something in me. Anyway, downloaded bumble to see what’s out there… and it was BAD!!! Went through the entire feed and nothing. Deleted app.
she came to family easter today and met my extended family and continues to spend time with my immediate family and she cried happy tears when we got back because of how comfortable she feels and how welcomed she’s been. so that’s a good sign
Been about 6 weeks with my partner and it's been fantastic. It's so simple, we match each others love and energy and that's all I've ever wanted. I know this is my person and I know she feels the same. There has been 0.0% insecurity or stress, not saying its always going to be perfect but man, the compatibility just makes life so good with each other. She met mom and also a couple of close friends over the weekend and they loved her. I dropped the L bomb on her last week too which she reciprocated, we both knew we loved each other already one of us just had to blurt it out. This has been everything I ever wanted and then some.
My buddy's ex keeps showing up in my stack on multiple dating sites and every time it feels like the universe is giving me a "are you a piece of shit? Y/N?" test. I pass every time lol.
I would say trying to hook up with your friend's ex without knowing or checking if they're ok with it or not is a little more than being a "little bit" of a piece of shit.
My female friends always judge how I approach dating sites. I speed swipe based almost entirely on vibes. I swipe left on a lot of very conventionally attractive women that are theoretically out of my league that I just don't feel like I would vibe with (which I think shocked them the most). Also I don't really read profiles before I swipe. Vibes wise Feeld has the most of my type. But the userbase is too small. The closest people will be like 15-25 miles away.
that is the worst way to use dating apps and the algorithm knows you’re speed swiping and punishing you for it from what i’ve read
