Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come is the real masterpiece here.
    The Offspring - Americana
Goo Goo Dolls - Dizzy Up The Girl

I haven't listened to Follow the leader in the last decade, I think. It's my number 2 because it meant a lot to me when it came out. I was young, nu metal was 'the' thing and I enjoyed a lot back then, even if the last songs on the record didn't do a lot for me.

It's 2 because of its sentimental value, basically.

No judgment. Except maybe if you’re still enthusiastic about “All in the Family”. I also grew up then so I know nu metal was the thing

  4. Spun this on my morning run and, boy, were you right. Flowers is a real gem.

Glad you enjoyed! It's such a unique midpoint of like, piano pop rock but really weird psychedelic-type things happening throughout, but the whole time staying emotional and catchy. I just love his voice so much too.

  7. Totally - saw a review that argued there's a big Stones influence, and I can definitely hear it, but his range keeps it from feeling like an exact carbon copy.

Well he was “just” a DJ then. I saw him live in 04 at a Fat Joe show when he was “just” Fat Joe’s DJ.

Anyone ever listen to this? Totally forgot about it when this thread was active, but such a cool album. Not sure what to compare it to off the top of my head but I'll throw out a RIYL the album leaf and sufjan michigan. First song is fine but I'd recommend In the Water or Shalom as more inviting one-offs.

  14. tbh what cemented the band into GOAT status for me was some of their old live performances on Youtube. Jeff really do be singing his little ass off.

Is the Mark Hollis S/T from this year better than the last two Talk Talk albums??? It might be!
