If you’re interested in Mishima as a figure, the short film he directed and starred in, based on one of his short stories is a good insight into his psyche and politics.
Finally saw Vagabond for the first time. Cool that it was on film and at the Coolidge. I haven't stopped thinking about it all week.
I see people talking about Mishima here. Just watched a special showing in theaters! Besides some people laughing at non-comedic moments, it was so great. Really strange and beautiful film, and deepens my love for his work. I’m also in the middle of reading his four-book series, on the second book Runaway Horses, so I’ve been on a Mishima kick lately.
