First time popping in one of these 1. Talking Heads - Remain In Light 2. The Cure - Seventeen Seconds 3. Kate Bush - Never For Ever
1. The Cure: Seventeen Seconds 2. X: Los Angeles 3. The Feelies: Crazy Rhythms Toughest cuts: 4. Talking Heads: Remain in Light 5. Blondie: Autoamerican 6. Paul McCartney: McCartney II 7. Billy Joel: Glass Houses Really love this year. It was kind of hard to make a top 3. The Cure was a pretty easy choice. I had to include X because songs from that album pop into my head all the time. I saw The Feelies at Pitchfork a few years ago and they were such a blast. This is definitely my favorite of the albums I’ve heard.
talking heads' remain in light wins with 22 pts. back in black in 2nd with 11 and glass houses in 3rd with 10 ill be traveling tomorrow so I'll post the new thread tuesday if that's okay
Listened to the Cheap Trick album and that’s a really interesting, quirky way to follow up your huge successes
Starting some ‘81 listening before the thread is up and 2 of the first 4 albums I went looking for aren’t streaming. Fuckin’ hell.
Have way more free time for music now that I'm back at work. Trying to compile a "to-listen" playlist. Doing the Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark S/T now.
Listening to Peter Gabriel's Melt now. Wasn't big on the first few tracks but "Start" is excellent. EDIT: And from that point on I think I've liked/loved every other track. Good album
Honestly one of the best Bowie songs I've ever heard. When I spun that album a month ago I was shocked I'd never heard of the song before.
Listening to Icehouse by Flowers (eventually known as Icehouse). The song "Icehouse" plays a pretty important role in The Shards by Bret Easton Ellis, which I am reading. Good stuff, I really liked "We Can Get Together"
Hell yeah, a Samson mention! As always, great list. I would’ve included Call Me by Blondie in there as well.
