1 - Eraserhead 2 - Suspiria 3 - Winnie the Pooh can't believe people are actually ranking Annie Hall on their lists. disgusting
Fuck Woody Allen, but you kind of have to view these things in a vacuum. After all, you voted for a Dustin Hoffman movie last round.
Uh, I voted for Taxi Driver last round lol Also, how can you possibly view Woody Allen movies "in a vaccuum"?
You can't separate art from artist. Woody Allen's films literally all revolve around older men with younger women. Watch HBO's Allen v. Farrow docuseries if you want a better understanding.
well I'm misunderstanding the rules of this then, I thought only the top vote counts Please explain how one can possibly view Woody Allen movies "in a vaccum", would love to hear it.
Right, as if the rest of All The President's Men doesn't have merit simply because Dustin Hoffman (who, for the record, is a scumbag by all accounts) is in it. And like that is in any way comparable to the films of Woody Allen, which are all written and directed by him and often star him and are inseparable from him and his voice and his presence.
Because you have to? Because the world is full of scumbags and sometimes those scumbags make movies? All of these movies are absolutely littered with horrible people working on them.
what about the several dozen abusers we've already covered without having someone come in to shame people for acknowledging?
I guess you're drawing a line that I can't really...because to me there's no point in being selective. You can either delete everything that's ever been created by horrible people (like 50% of all things) from your brain or you can try to view it in a vacuum. 10 people gave votes to Chinatown despite Polanski, Rocky came in second for its year despite Stallone, 2001 won its year despite Kubrick, and I'm probably going to vote for Stand By Me despite Dreyfuss and some Pixar movies despite Lasseter.
1. Star Wars 2. Close Encounters of the Third Kind 3. Smokey and the Bandit All on regular rotation during my childhood.
I only just found this now - so this may be super basic, but you can filter on Letterboxd for availability on specific streaming sites, which is quite cool. So if you're looking to watch a couple of films from 1977 without hunting down DVDs or torrents, you can see what is easily available to stream. For example, this is what's available on UK Netflix and released in 1977; Browse Films You can add which streaming sites you're subscribed to and filter that way. As I said, may be old news to everyone, but I just found this earlier, and it's pretty useful. Edit: You may have to have a Letterboxd Pro account for this to work.
