The Godfather Part II wins it with 30 votes. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was in second place with an impressive 18 votes. The Godfather Part II will move on to the bracket.

While I’m here, Texas Chainsaw Massacre clears Godfather II every day of the week

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is in the running for the most overrated movie ever.

I always took it as being underrated, but I don’t hang out with many horror nerds so maybe that’s why

To me it’s one of maybe 20 films that manages to create the same atmosphere with each watch and that’s pretty special.

It's correctly rated as one of the best films of all time.

Always do the right thing. Supporter

It doesn’t beat either Godfather film but picking between the three like picking between Ken Griffey Jr, Barry Bonds, and Willie Mays

In general the horror genre is too easily dismissed when talking about film canon. TCM is the quintessential American horror film, one that only grows in its prescience of the spoiled core of this country with each passing year. I think many people write the film off because of the name or because of the shitty sequels, but the original is a complete nightmare. No amount of praise could overrate it

The Conversation was good. The scene in the loft where Hackman gets vulnerable for a second was terrific. Great jumpscare later on too.

Don't Look Now, Jaws, The Exorcist, and Alien are better films. There is a tendency of genre fans to act like their films are dismissed when what is really happening is that there are high standards. Comedy genre fans are probably worse overall at this.

Don’t Look Now isn’t even an American horror film you freak!
