I know this an older post but I’ve never seen anyone love Cleopatra that much and a I’m intrigued. Curious what makes you a fan. Not sarcastically either.

 

honestly i just haven’t seen a ton from this year. i remember liking it a lot when i first visited it in early college and was reading a lot about the historical time period. i haven’t revisited in forever though.

 

You put it ahead of two 10/10s in my book so I was curious.

It is a beautifully mounted movie. I found myself just watching the corners of the frame for the production design and costumes instead of the story

 

Wouldn’t be in my top 3, but I watched Hud a couple days ago and liked it quite a lot.

Beautifully shot and some very memorable lines. And ughhhhh Hud suuuuuuucks

 

There are days where I think that’s Newman’s best work. All the other days, it’s The Verdict

 

Scorpio Rising would have made my list. What a film.
