Well, finished my first listen and this might be a masterpiece?! Big dumb grin on my face the entire time I got Anthony Kiedis suckin on my penis lyric of the year
This is a trip, lol. It’s no less annoying than the last one, so I don’t think it’s necessarily going to win anyone over, but it’s good and I was not expecting them to channel some of the genres they’re emulating here.
This was fine. A step down from the first album IMHO. They abandoned most of the electronic bass-ness of the first record which I loved. I honestly thought after it finished, "we waited 3.5 years for...that?", but maybe I'll warm up to it on subsequent listens.
Yeah I'm not feeling it nearly as much as the first album on first listen. It moves away from a lot of what I loved about that one and I also think the songs just aren't as well written. There's still some fun stuff here though so I'll see if it grows on repeated listens.
The hooks just don't grab me on this one the way a song like ringtone or hand crushed by a mallet did. Honestly feels like they focused more on shock value than elevating their songwriting. Just a completely forgettable album overall.
So many things I love about this. They really cranked the weirdness to 11. I wish Frog on the Floor was longer. I want more character development.
Surprised some here think the weirdness on this is cranked up. Feels to me like a lot of the songs are dialed back and more focused than on the debut
if the dumbest girl alive would've been the lead single of this album, half this forum would've died from anticipation. based.
Yeah I’m not buying the opinions this is a “forgettable album” lol. Everything I’m hearing is positioning this to be a classic.
I will say I’m bummed about the artwork. That’s been their Spotify artist picture for at least a year or two.
