WTFFFFF this is the best surprise I’ve had a day - did not know there was an album releasing and was just enjoying these songs as they were released lmao

 

Excited, but kind of nervous, about this album being released

 

Why nervous?

 

I like, but haven’t been entirely sold on, all of the singles so far

 

I don’t really like D&F at all but I like the other two (especially Hollywood Baby).

 

All of the singles have been good songs but I feel like the insanity of 1000 Gecs is not present in any of the singles. Expecting a less adventurous album for sure.

 

Kinda wild it's out Friday after such a long rollout. Feels like there's no buzz this week though.

Pitchfork got it right for once imo- album is fantastic. In the move to a major label, they dropped a lot of the “glitchy-electronic”-non-sequitur side of their sound, but substituted it for some genuinely gorgeous and un-ironcially sophisticated moments (frog on the floor, I got my tooth removed). But rest assured, they haven’t lost their propensity to be hilarious amongst their thesis that imitation and parody is the most sincere form of flattery. I dare any of you to not have a massive grin or laugh out loud at the end of Billy knows Jamie
