yeah i guess in my head it was somehow an accident? idk why. but he just fucking kicked her in the back like a monster.
What was equally upsetting about the video is how people in the crowd cheered him on and shouted support for him after he did it. Like damn, these are kids at these shows, impressionable 14-16 year olds and to see them cheering on this kinda violence is so upsetting. What kind of message are you sending to these kids? That it's okay to drop kick a helpless person just because you don't like what they are doing? The lyrics were already sending a terrible message but now Parker is teaching these kids violence. It's just so wrong.
the thing that pisses me off so much about this, is how the crowd reacts. i wish everyone would have just left, but instead they cheer. classy.
Of course the crowd cheered, this is a scene that explicitly encourages this kind of violence, especially toward women. No one there had a problem with it, same kind of people applauding these actions in terrible comment sections right now.
Fucking shitty, shouldn't treat your fans like that at all, man or woman, disgusting. Regret ever enjoying this band and seeing them live. I used to roll my eyes at the whole kill pop-punk, burn this scene down mentality... kind of hard to disagree with it now, after numerous cases of dudes in this scene being complete shit.
There's so many people offering up solutions to this all over the internet when it's really this simple: Don't touch the people. Don't touch them. Don't kick them, don't punch them, don't throw things at them. Don't touch them. This gal did nothing wrong here.
This is fucked, fuck Parker and the band for not stopping the show to check on her. The argument that she was taking a selfie on stage and how "annoying" it is to do that, becomes irrelevant after what Parker did. Has the band or Parker responded to this yet? And has the girl come forth about it?
Sickens me that people are using the "but it's a punk show" argument to defend this ass. If this is punk, I don't want anything to do with it.
looks like he did this a year ago to a guy doing the same thing Here’s what happens when you take a stage selfie during the Story So Far’s set - News - Alternative Press both times, most of the comments are like "well what do you expect" "it's their show, they can do what they want" "they're both wrong" "it's a punk show" etc.
I really fucking wish the correlation between punk and violence (and the latter being expected/accepted) was never created.
The "punk" shows I've been to had a sense of camaraderie and everyone caring for one another's well being, definitely don't remember band members drop-kicking fans off stage.
Punk has become so misused to the point it justifies literally any forms of violence. That shit needs to stop.
To the surprise of (hopefully) no one, the comments on that video are abhorrent. Even if she got on stage and ruined their set, don't fucking touch her or anyone else. My god.
This is so messed up. Asking them to get off the stage or escorting them off is one thing. I saw Knuckle Puck do this with class but to kick them off the stage?! Who are we giving our money to? I've enjoyed their albums but after this I don't want anything to do with them. And what kills me is fans won't care about what he did and they will still support them. Turn the cheek I guess. Smh.
