This trailer definitely looks like it’s trying to be James Bond. James Bond sits at the top, Jason Bourne is next, Ethan Hunt…

 

I’ve liked the MI series better than Bond and Bourne.

 

I enjoy every Mission Impossible movie but for some reason my brain can never retain what the plot of any of them were about.

 

All I remember is "Red light, green light!".

 

I enjoy seeing the new Bond movies but I’ve had more of a connection with this series. The Bourne movies were good but I never revisit them. It’s also impressive to see what crazy new shit Tom Cruise is pull off with each MI movie.

I think I concur in the thought that I've enjoyed the MI films more than Bond or Bourne

Looks awesome. Bourne, for me, isn't even in the same realm of quality as MI and Bond. I use the term "quality" interchangeably with "entertaining" in this instance.

 

The Mission Impossible movies have a very high bar for quality. Even the weaker ones (2 and 3) are pretty enjoyable action flicks. It might be the best active blockbuster franchise at the moment tbh

 

2nd one was pretty trash, to be honest

 

I can understand MI eclipsing Bourne if comparing them as franchises - but I'll take Identity over any MI film.

 

Identity probably has a better script over any MI film but in terms of just pure action movie filmmaking, nothing beats Fallout

 

Also, I'm all for Dune needing 2 films to tell the story, but I don't need Mission Impossible movies spread over 2 parts.
