    I can't tell if this is even vaguely a sequel to the last Godzilla movie? Which I'd really liked. But I do like the casting of Coach Taylor and Eleven.

    It is! Building on that and Kong: Skull Island from last year to make a cinematic universe for monsters.

    Right, right! I liked Kong too - I guess I'm just used to trailers making callbacks to the previous movies (for better or worse), and wasn't sure how closely this was associated.

    Trailer does relatively well at obscuring the images of the other monsters. I'd maybe have appreciated them not not showing all of them, but with how trailers are made anymore, a little surprise is something.
