Really hope they do it right this time. Last season on Netflix suffered due to scheduling.

It seems like the tagline - "This time the Bluths are all together. Whether they like it or not." may be a tacit admission to season 4's missteps.

My hope is that the reason this season took so long to get into production was because they were waiting till all the schedules lined up together.

Nice. Last season didn't do much for me, the various interactions between the characters were really what made the show for me. Regardless, I love this show and can't wait to see them all together again.

That's my takeaway as well. Mitch & Ron Howard did a re-cut of season 4 in chronological order a couple years(?) ago, but it hasn't been released yet. I think Netflix doesn't want to bash season four outright since it was their first outing into original comedy programming, and they're going to use the re-cut at some point between now and season 5 as a promotional tool to win fans over.

That being said, I really enjoyed Season 4. It's different for sure but it definitely benefits from repeat viewings and different expectations

Okay, you know what you do? You buy yourself a tape recorder, you just record yourself for a whole day. I think you’re going to be surprised at some of your phrasing.

Apart from the lack of episodes with the entire cast together, I think a part of season four's problems was the length of the episodes. AD works really well in 22-minute spurts, and there were several cases where I could feel the extra time bringing each chapter down. I never would've imagined more Arrested Development could be a bad thing, but a few of those were just too long to enjoy.

Either way, that show at its worst is so much better than just about everything else at its best. I can't wait.

Yeah after being told a million times that my wife and I would like it (since we're huge Office/Sunny fans), we binged the first three seasons, fell in love, and then just could even finish season four. I wonder if I can just never finish it and jump into season five.
