I’m guessing Brendon wanted to do WWWY cuz that’s where they’re from so it felt like a homecoming and that’s all he wanted to do in order to not feel like a nostalgia act. But also, it felt like they put in a lot of work for two shows. A string section and horn section, even though they had that on the VLV tour. Nearly 30 songs is nothing to sneeze at for only two days in a row of shows. Maybe they’re waiting a bit and seeing the reactions from this weekend.

Watched an interview with Yellowcard from this weekend and they were asked what their favorite Blink songs were. Collectively they said Asthenia, Stockholm Syndrome, More Than You Know, and Zulu. Those guys know what’s up.

It's not exactly a 1:1 but wishing Ryan Ross would come back to Panic At The Disco is like wishing Kevin Cadogen would back to Third Eye Blind. Both were definite secret weapons obviously but in terms of branding, most of people who go see both bands have no idea/don't really care. PATD in particular saw significantly MORE commercial success in the 2010s when Brendon was heading the ship so just don't see why it'd be necessary.

Watching videos and it’s great to see the Fever songs played live again, especially since when it came out Brendon was 17-18 and now being in his 30s, he’s selling the shit out of these songs vocally more than ever. I’d definitely go if they did a tour of this next year. And Nicole and the rest of the band (and the killer horn section) really adds to it.

I’m on some 5-dimensional shit with this. Not only do I do it for each track 1-12 on most releases, I do it for suites, I do it for “best middle of album track,” (must be an odd number!) “best three song stretch,” “best second to last track” (since every album is a different length and track listing), best instrumental, best interlude, and way more. Best same named song pairings “Better Off Dead” by Bad Religon and NFG, You’re Not Alone” by Saosin and Home Grown, etc) best songs in certain key signatures (so I always know what I could easily play in D major, etc). Then I compare by year, by genre, and my overall. I have 844 playlists. It’s a disorder. But it keeps me alive and makes me happy.

If I said 100%, that was definitely an exaggeration. I’m just saying some songs might have been played by Patrick or other people like Butch since Pete has even proclaimed himself to be a root note bass player. Even if he is, his chops have considerably improved. I’m sure he had to, especially when they changed the setlist up night after night.

I remember in junior high when FUTCT came out being dumbfounded that Pete Wentz was the face of the band when he was (imo by a far region) the least talented member musically of the band. But he makes up for that by his report with the crowd and his lyrics and overall vision of the FOB aesthetic so now I appreciate him. Took a long time though. Wouldn't surprise me if Patrick played his bass parts in the studio. I feel like that was rumored at some point.

Besides listening to Hum when it came out once or twice, I haven't really listened to TWY much since I saw the No Closer to Heaven tour. Fuck, these new mixes sound incredible. In one degree of separation, I really dug the Letlive remix of their 2013 album from this summer. Just random curiosity, what other albums would you want a remix of? There's been a lot of that lately, with the Replacements' mix of "Tim" being incredible too. There's a lot of Guided by Voices stuff from the 90s I wish wasn't lo-fi even though I knew that was part of their charm lol
