Death of a Unicorn was fun! maybe not as clever as other recent "normal girl surrounded by rich assholes" comedies (Knives Out, The Menu, Ready or Not) but the kills make up for it

rewatched challengers, still like it. when i first saw it in the theater the music was too damn loud that it became distracting like it was drowning out everything else. as cool as the soundtrack is, watching the movie at much lower volume with subtitles was a better experience for sure.

I've seen the films for Les Mis and Sweeney Todd a long time ago, and In the Heights, Mean Girls and Wicked more recently. I have not seen Rent or West Side Story. The only Broadway cast recording I've listened to so far is Hamilton, tho tbh part of the appeal of Hadestown is the Greek mythology of it all bc I'm a big fan of the Hades video game(s)

Is there a musicals thread? I've never been much of a musicals girly or even a theater kid, but Hadestown looks interesting, so I wanna give it a listen. Funny thing, tho, what got me to start looking into it was I saw a tiktok of a random girl on an airport flat escalator dancing/lip syncing to Eurydice's part on Wait for Me (reprise) and I've been watching every clip I come across of that part being performed, it's been stuck in my head for days

that Invincible episode with Aaron Paul... man, that's some heavy stuff. we inevitably compare The Boys and Invincible a lot because they're both bloody superhero shows on Amazon, but yeah, I don't think The Boys could ever pull off something like that. two more to go.
