Colts select Mason Taylor, TE, LSU The Colts have traded down in the second each of the past 3 years, so I’m mostly assuming they don’t make this pick. The scenario where Mason Taylor is still on the board and they haven’t already taken a TE is one of the only scenarios I could see them staying put.

Bears select Donovan Jackson, OT, Ohio State I like how this mock is playing out because I think, similar to last year, we’re gonna have a case where the players who have any shot at sticking at OT go near the top of their respective range and it’ll hit a point after this where teams have to decide whether to reach to fill the position or risk not filling it this draft

Elf, I don’t think you’re interpreting that correctly. I read that as Cam saying, “you’re an idiot young kid who is gonna burn through all that money asap (and probably the people who convinced him to think whatever he’s doing is a good idea) when you should be happy as shit with a smaller amount NOW and then if you get drafted and are good you will make that money back later on”. kind of the whole ‘how do people who win the lottery go broke?????’ Kinda thing is what I think Cam is getting at.

Colts select Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State The Colts haven’t taken an OL in the first two rounds since 2018. The Colts have two OTs who are pending FAs in 2026, an open starting slot at OG, and have yet to make a FA acquisition here. I think OL is the pick here. Making the bold call based off his visit schedule, willingness to attend the draft, etc, that the medicals look good and that Simmons winds up getting drafted at much closer to pre-injury value than current mocks indicate
