Met the person I was talking to for a good bit finally. Don't quite feel a spark, and think I need to tell her sooner than later. Conversation via text is just so dull and almost non existent, even though it was quite fun and easy in person. Oh well.

The first time I heard Hell 99 (on my first spin of the album), it helped propel me into a huge life changing decision that paved the way to escape a life I had devoted myself to for 17 years. (Kept my incredible wife and kids, and escaped the cycle of abuse that is evangelicalism.) FUCK FUCK FUCK CONSTANT FATIGUE x20 As I sat sobbing in my office. This album will always be incredibly special to me.

i def hope the stuff like undertow and vesper is what they want to flesh out next for the follow up. i dig the more straightforward stuff here since its been a while since theyve done that and imo theyve never done it as well as they have here, but i would love to see this pipeline them into something more experimental for the next one

Undertow is so fucking great. Crazy they still pull shit like this off this deep into their career. Can’t wait for the SD show next week.

This album is monumental. Not only as a possible swan song for one of the best from the scene, but as a snapshot of our current climate being a millennial. They absolutely went out on top. Give me snapping of the brain

I felt pretty good and comfortable being single until I tried the dating apps again and now I want to be in a relationship just so I can get off them for good lol dating sucks who knew the arranged marriage cultures had it all figured out. Just let your parents do all the work

one thing i really love about this album is that its really got me listening to their back catalog a lot again and immersing myself with everything that comes along with being a fan of them. i didnt even really have that with east since that one sorta blindsided me with how good it was, but ive jammed vheissu, alchemy, and beggars at least once every day the last two weeks, i am just so on my thrice shit rn

Really good album. The back half is damn near perfect. Smoke and Mirrors in particular absolutely floored me.

I think West is great, it just suffers slightly in comparison to East. East has a lot of 10/10s for me - color of the sky, summer set fire, still life, dandelion wine; I love those to death. And the rest are very high as well. West tracks for me are not scoring quite as high even though I'm enjoying all of them. After East the experimentation/diversity is a little more normalized for me which also affects expectations. I think the highest point is indeed the falsettos and odd time signatures in the first half of Vesper Light. My favorite continues to be Holding On because it really does fill for me an emotional slot that was still free in their music, fast paced hot water music hope punk. Also Albatross is the earworm for me so far, it comes back to my mind all the time. Some parts remind me of other songs (distant suns reminds me of color of the sky, vesper 2nd half reminds me of treading paper) but I) that's fine, II) it's unavoidable at this stage of their discography and III) in many cases may be intentional.

Today my workplace had catering as part of an office event. I'd submitted a form well in advance to RSVP and so my dietary needs could be accounted for, but by the time I got to the break room the vegan food was all gone

A LOT of people where i live like to wait to use their turn signal until they suddenly brake hard to make the turn. i leave more space in front of me then most but still feel like thats why i go through brake pads/rotors so fast

Buried in the Sun is probably my favorite song on Horizons/East. It's so weird but the bass and drums are just so fuckin sick all throughout.

I was walking past the House of Music in Portland today, heard a band sound checking and it sounded really good. Came back about 20 mins later and they were still playing, so I just walked in. It was this band and about 10 photographers taking millions of photos as they were rehearsing for their upcoming tour. I’d never heard of them before and holy shit they are awesome. I stayed for about 40 mins. It was like a personal concert. Immediately streamed Quitters on my ride home.
