Triple post, IGAF. The band sounded so good last night. Better than when I saw them headline last year (despite me really preferring that setlist to last night's). You could definitely tell last Spring was a tune-up show for them and last night, they sounded so tight and clean. That was also my first show at The Roxy. Love seeing shows at Mahalls, but The Roxy is sooooo nice.

I also had no idea Trevor was from Cleveland. Was last night just a one-off for him, or is he fully rejoining? The band didn't mention it was his first night on the tour - they didn't bring it up at all.

Early impressions: Better than my first listen of Midnights but very one note. Missing a new level, which means the over exposure becomes a factor and it just feels … ok? And a little lacking. the Starting Line reference rules If you told me this was a bunch of bsides or (fake) versions of the vault tracks I’d believe you. this roll out has bugged me and felt exploitative if I was a consultant for a career (lol no one cares what I think at this level) .. I’d recommend a break, a reset, and work on the songs until they don’t feel like lesser versions of what you’ve don’t before

It’s a great debut and Pink Pony Club is one of the best pop tunes of the decade.

First time seeing them tonight and they ruled! Midway through the show I was approached by a couple in their 70s who it took awhile but i eventually recognized as family friends of my ex who I used to see all the time. And that’s how I learned my ex’s dad’s longtime friend is the uncle of a member of Spanish Love Songs
