Can’t wait for Sunday to watch JC’s The Fog on April 21st. One of my favorite days.

Kind of wish I avoided the Trap trailer.

Knock was decent. Interesting it resolves a lot of the vagueness in the book.

thought Immaculate was fine, not great. seems like they wanted a tense slowburner and a movie where dudes get choked out by rosary beads. I'm fine with either of those but you need a very strong framework to try and do both, this script was just okay definitely glad I decided on catching First Omen on the big screen and Immaculate on streaming, the former was way better

It was. Definitely hit a lot of familiar notes but had a few swerves I didn’t expect. And the breezy runtime. That was a solid 85 minutes. Now I have to find time for Omen.

it’s a one and done for me. Garland isn’t too interested in what causes the war. Unless I missed it. The sides are vague and maybe that’s to amplify the horrors we see but I found that frustrating. And the character’s story arcs about end up where you expect from the start. Really, it just scared me because of the realism of it all but I walked away thinking how I want Garland to just return to horror/sci-fi ‍♂️

I’m stoked for Uncanny. The rest - we’ll see.

Ok, since I’m thinking about it again, here’s my ranking of most to least interesting “From the Ashes” titles (that we know more about than just the title): 1.) Exceptional X-Men (Eve L. Ewing & Carmen Carnero) This is the one I get more and more hyped to think about. I love Emma Frost and can’t wait to have someone more interesting than Gerry Duggan write her. And, I also love the Mekanix miniseries that this feels like a spiritual sequel to. 2.) Uncanny X-Men (Gail Simone & David Marquez) Just about the best case scenario for a “traditional”/“classic” X-book for me, personally, in 2024. 3.) Phoenix (Stephanie Phillips & Alessandro Miracolo) I’m fairly neutral on the creative team for this one, but Jean Grey as a solo hero, reunited with Phoenix, in space is a really solid hook imo. Just need to see a colored interior page to know for sure. 4.) X-Men (Jed MacKay & Ryan Stegman) This seems like the easiest hit for the average comic shop crowd, and will probably be fairly rad. But idk… seems like something I’d catch down the road via a half off trade. 5.) NYX (Collin Kelly + Jackson Lanzing & Francesco Mortarino) Wish a book with Ms Marvel & Laura Kinney ranked higher than this; probably would’ve been if Kelly & Lanzing weren’t the writers lol. 6.) X-Force (Geoffrey Thorne & Marcus To) Even this least appealing book has elements that seem cool… but my gut feeling is that this won’t do much for me!
