Agree, her singles that I’ve heard are all pretty milquetoast, “Espresso” is fine but it just makes me want to listen to “Say So” instead

Its a lazy take but I've decided Sabrina Carpenter is massively overrated. I've been weary on new pop acts in the past, often to be proven massively wrong in the long run. (I remember thinking Olivia Rodrigo was weak but shes one of the best pop acts in ages....I remember scoffing at Bille Eilish at first too, like a dope). But.... I mean, I've been thinking about it. 2024 was her big breakout year but in the end i think "espresso" was the only song that really had lasting power. Her other singles were "fine" but I can't see me thinking about them or caring about them going forward. Dont get me wrong. She's an EXCELLENT personality. She's definitely got good presence as a performer...but the songs just aren't really there yet. Even her Christmas special was kinda just okay. Like 2024 was the year of Chapelle and Charli 100% and people say Carpenter but eh....I say nah.

I don’t really understand the need for cross-saves for late ports, unless it’s a multiplayer/GaaS game. What’s the use case? Not that it has downsides either of course

I finally had time to create an Elden Ring installation that starts you at the DLC with a level 90 character and no base game equipment, making it a game of its own essentially.

Anyway, I think it's hilarious that instead of doing the obvious thing and put in more legacy Sega characters, Sega's putting in Nickelodeon characters. Don't they have their own franchise for this?

People, people, people, come on now, we can’t have people fight about posts about has-been licensed characters in an also-ran kart racer. That’s too far even for us.

Haha yeah it’s very much of that vibe - more of a feature than a bug to me as it feels like an expansion on the songs I liked most from his last project, which largely didn’t stick with me. But certainly would not have been mad about sneaking a Georgetown or a You Don’t Know in there

That’s probably an US thing, most of our relevant radio at the time was public so they definitely didn’t take payola

I’ve been looking forward to this but I’m about halfway in and I think this might have more acoustic guitar beats than I can take, haha. Horcrux is a banger though.

Good Morning Revival going gold is interesting. I suppose dance floor anthem had a small amount of mainstream success. Cool to see though! edit: i see DFA was just certified 2x platinum and the river was certified gold. Pretty good for singles from an album that wasn’t well received.

I really enjoyed my first listen. I definitely understand the last bit being where it gets a little lost but I think those songs are still pretty good. The rest is great though, they do some really cool things on this album. The production is pristine, the vocals and instruments just sound so good. I really like that some of these songs are given space to breathe with some extra jamming out, guitar solo, vibingggg. Good stuff
