It is true and Love Takes Miles is right up there for individual songs, too. And Geese is up there as a band, too! It’s fun to think this guy has had an absolutely insane 18 months of musical output and yet it seems to still only be on the way up in terms of people catching on.

So this is really good so far but Try as I May is an absolute stunner. Can’t remember the last time a song gave me goosebumps like this. Unfortunately it’s now on repeat so will have to finish the album later!

I think the scene that was most jarring to me was the one where Ellie and Dina share their secrets. It felt really unnatural. The level of assumptions from the characters was odd, and it feels like they’d have more to say to each other about each point. The jump from “I’m immune” to “I’m pregnant”, to “we’re going to raise it together despite us being just friends until 30 seconds ago” was wild. I get they probably just didn’t want to spend unnecessary time on it, but it made the whole scene feel off to me.

I am somewhat empathetic to how much more complex it must feel for someone with Israeli family, but that statement really does the absolute bare minimum to even acknowledge anything happening in Gaza. I was also reading that Dudu Tassa recently performed for IDF soldiers? Which, if true...I don't know. Radiohead has been a top five artist for me for well over a decade. Johnny is a musical genius and I really enjoy his film score work as well. None of this is particularly new and doesn't spark something in me that wants to cancel the band so much as it has just been heavily bumming me out for the past few months, to the point that I've been skipping Radiohead tracks when they come up on my playlists. Shit sucks.

To add to that, I just don’t feel Ellie’s unrelenting revenge here. The Ellie that they’ve presented thus far feels like she absolutely would have noped back to Jackson after finding out they’re in the middle of a war and Dina being pregnant. The moments of levity/romance feel like they take away from the revenge plot when they’re placed at this point in the story.
