I don't actually think they're bad at all. They're not the best-sounding band in the world, but they're super fun to see live. My brain does love to hyper-criticize things, and I'm still struggling to turn that part of my brain off to have fun. When I see them, however, I just end up singing and dancing the entire time. I have a blast! What I gain from seeing them is a good time. Also, yes. I am an Adam Lazzara Stan (I don't like using the word "stan" but that's the most fitting word here). I love with him all of my heart, but I also criticize him. It's just what I do. It's funny because at first I found it hard to like a guy who can't really sing, but I've actually grown to like his weird singing, and I can look past it (but still acknowledge it) now. The criticism for the singing also comes from me being a singer (not professionally, but I sing and do vocal covers as a hobby) and therefore being hyper-critical of singing voices. A singing voice an actually make or break my opinion of a band. As for me "coming here," I actually kinda like it here. The TBS Discord server hardly ever criticizes the band for anything (only ever says positive things, which is fine but I'd like a little differing opinions now and then) and their subreddit does it too much. This place, I've found, is the best place for TBS discourse.

I've said it a million times and I'll say it again - this band is best served in an indoor 1-2K cap venue where they have die-hard fans screaming every word and the energy takes over and nobody gives a shit about how Adam sounds because nobody can hear him over everyone anyway. They are not good when they aren't the main draw of the night or playing in huge outdoor venues in front of fans that are either casuals or only know a few songs and the energy is dead.

Yea I was happy no one there seemed to be interested in causing issues. I think this thing sold out so quick and on short notice, so you had to be pretty actively following them to get tickets. Sometimes I feel like the crowd just go looking to get rough if tickets don’t go too quick. Could be wrong though.

So they must have been working on this one for a while because it sounded amazing live last night. Geoff said they were filing footage for a video. A decent number of people knew the words already. The bridge goes so hard. They had the signed 12 inch for $50. Pretty cool. I passed on it though. They played a pretty standard set besides throwing in Running from the Rain (which was so good) and then ending on Turnpike Divides. Geoff still sounds so good. Was just crazy seeing them in a 250 cap room. Most of the crowd kind of just hung back, which I guess makes sense given “our” age. I’ve got a few more years of screaming and shoving left. There were a few younger kids trying to crowd surf and stage dive. Always good to see the youth carry the torch. Hoping that they can continue on for years to come but man my ears and legs hurt today.

Doing a discography run and I slept on Common Existence. Never really heard it because I was more into indie music at that time. That album goes hard. Excited for tonight. Hoping Geoff reads a few IG captions aloud for us. Also a bit afraid I may die in the pit.

Bold choice to choose DAK over the other three. Much respect.

We had these artists at Grad Night in 2001 Tyrese, DJ Skribble, Nine Days, 3LW, Christina Milian, Tonya Mitchell I remember Nine Days being there. Thought it was funny bc they were from Long Island and that’s where we came from. Only other one I remember seeing was DJ Skribble in front of the castle. The weirdest part of the trip was that I went to a Catholic high school. Prior to grad night they rented out the Hall of Presidents and we had mass in there. So strange.

Wish someone could capture the smile on everyone’s face when they listened to this for the first time and the screams kicked in after the bridge.
