Yeah this rules. Really digging Things Like This at the moment. Few bands can write bridges you want to sing along with at the top of your lungs like Justin and co.

What's crazy is I'd personally make the argument their three album run of Bleed American, Futures and Chase This Light is even better

Looks like they tracked quite a few of these songs back when Claudio was with them. I do wonder what completely new and fresh stuff we will be getting in the future.

Apologies if posted already but I have vivid memories of my friend back in 1995 buying a Virtual Boy and me trying it out and it just put a strain on my eyes. I wonder how this new periphery set will perform. I feel like out of curiosity again 30 years later people will realize why it originally bombed. I might be wrong. [MEDIA]

I saw a guy at Riot Fest yesterday wearing a MCS shirt and I went up to him and said dude how great is the new album. And he responded “They have a new album?” Fake fan.

It's very funny because I was just thinking that earlier. There are some really good parts with Tony but he does seem more reserved and letting other instruments shine or take the lead.

I'm really enjoying this album overall, but my minor nitpick is that Tony Thaxton's drumming seems dialed back a bit on this album. There are a few songs where I was anticipating a breakdown in the bridge (like something we've heard in Time Turned Fragile) or even just a few interesting fills on mid-tempo tracks, but he mostly keeps things straightforward. There are moments like in You Know Who the Fuck We Are that I really enjoy though.

He's been working those muscles out with all his solo stuff and guest appearances. He's genuinely gotten so great at maintaining his voice.

Trails remake is fucking bliss. Had to wait until after both jobs to play tonight but I just love all the additions and tweaks and also remaining SO faithful to the original.

I want to love this, I think the flow is holding it back for me. The opener is way to mid tempo for my personal liking, but that's probably on me and my expectations given their history of amazingly upbeat catchy openers. I do enjoy a good amount of these songs after a few listens just sequencing is off for my personal tastes.

Nintendo makes some of the best games on the planet and have such a kid friendly presence with some of the biggest IPs but they still manage to be little greedy, litigious, ass backwards pricks at times and when they do it it's pretty egregious.

Pretty scummy work that Nintendo has been doing the last couple years. Treating workers unfairly, making patents for very generic and common gameplay methods (summoning creatures), pulling their games from charity events, etc.

Some of the lyrics have been fun like the chorus of Particle Physics but nothing has jumped out at me like "Made one wish for a permanent kiss That would echo through these bones like arsenic I can figure out the point of anything Just not as quick as I can mess up my life With all my dreams hooked to hospital machines I think, "let's try redefining beautiful."" Or "I am all motors and gadgets organically designed To last a finite length of time Locked in this rotary motion The wheel spins round and round I comprehend it all but still can't make a sound" They have so many good ones

things like this is by far my favorite song on the album. I don't really know where I stand with the lyrics on this album but some of the songs are mixed in a way where I can't make them all out so I need to look them up.

Finished a few more listens at work. I am interested in how this will grow over time. I like it, and the songwriting is very strong, but I guess I wish it raised my heart rate a little more. There is still enough there to hold on to and keep listening to see what happens, though.
