Very, very heavy handed but effective and I was moved.

Thought this was okay. Good direction and cast, but was true to Stephen King in the sense that every young adult talks like a greaser that just learned how to swear. Still, enjoyed Hoffman and Jonsson’s friendship and really, that’s what drives the whole movie. And once again, Judy Greer gets the thankless mom role.

People keep posting metacritic and rotten tomatoes stuff as if they mean anything (full of chuds writing positive reviews to keep getting advanced screenings, no shit pta made a good movie), but the praise from critics who can actually write (Ehrlich for one) has me very excited. There seems to be a hype here that is big, even for a PTA film. edit: No shade at above lol I more meant twitter

I was trying to emphasize that actual real critics are praising it as a monumental achievement as opposed to funko pop film twitter influencer types screaming hyperbole

I think this is true. There was way more lore around the creation of IARB and the band really centered around the cult of personality that was Max. I feel like that eroded away after their attempts at major label stuff didn’t quite land and Max tried doing different stuff, while also spiraling out. MCS seemed to always be the underdog, but had a more consistent sound and dynamic.

I didn't see it and what they talk about is more so how would they fix it structurally and tonally. I didn't feel spoiled but also I don't really care so your milage may vary. But you absolutely do not need to watch Fixed to listen lol

Lol the Fixed episode. Spent some time explaining the context of Sony Pictures Animation making movies for streamers and Genndy's career, and then eventually give up and talk A LOT of fantastic four
