Wonder if it’s just too taxing on their bodies to pull that many all nighters in a row anymore and they need the buffer in between episodes now

Even the big scenes like the bank robbery and the chili dog farts have way more to them than what the trailers show.

  8. soggytime liked Aaron Mook's post in the thread Movie Happy Gilmore 2 (July 25, 2025, Netflix).

Sandy Wexler is definitely a major step up from something like The Ridiculous 6. And since then, a lot of the Netflix-Sandler stuff has been totally serviceable and pleasant (albeit forgettable) comedies like The Week Of and Murder Mystery. Spaceman is, at the very least, a really interesting swing and a miss. And of course the stand-up stuff is great. As an actual actor, he's probably neck and neck with Carrey when he wants to be serious. Ferrell isn't really in that conversation imo, but if you're talking about comedy runs, Ferrell probably beats out both of them in terms of quality and consistency (even if he's my least favorite of the bunch).

She’s also second billed. Good for her getting that credit still

In the end, I think the Netflix deal really helped him find his footing for this later part of his career. The early stuff, like Ridiculous 6 and Sandy Wexler, is hot garbage. But he’s been doing a mixture of drama, standup and comedy and it’s becoming increasingly more sincere and less angry/horny. Like, HG2 is a pretty clean movie, content wise.

Sandler films range from 1 star to 5 stars and everything in between. Overall I think he has a much better track record than a lot of people give him credit for.

Really enjoyed this even if it’s a little long. Found it very sweet and funny. it kinda was Sandler’s Matrix Resurrections

I like that Apple Music is more album focused as opposed to playlist focused. Yes it’s another evil tech company but the A.I slop and A.I military bullshit isn’t ruining this specific service

No one is claiming that Apple and Tidal are altruistic. Spotify is just particularly evil, from lobbying Congress to pay artists less money; flooding popular playlists with ghost artists and AI-created tracks; payola schemes; and now their CEO leading investments in a drone warfare company. So yes, I do think other streamers are substantially better options. There’s a reason why Spotify is the only major streamer that UMAW is leading a campaign against. I highly recommend Liz Pelly’s Mood Machine or at least her initial article detailing some of this stuff if you’d like to know more.

Streaming landscape is fucked, but supporting literally anyone but Spotify is the right thing to do. Plus honestly I don't see why anyone uses that shit when the fucking audio quality sounds like it was rerecorded through a sock and is thrashed by all of its competitors.
