4 has arguably the best twist in Scream, it's such a great reveal. as much as I like 5 and 6 the reveals in both are a little lacking

I'm kinda glad I avoided listening to the singles for this because I'm really happy with the entire thing. feels like a pretty cohesive project with an intentional side A/B split to me? I dunno, rock doesn't just mean big guitars y'all

I'm almost done with My Heart is a Chainsaw and it's my first SGJ. I am absolutely loving it but also, all of the slasher/horror references land so well and make me so giddy through and through.

she cooked on t/t, absolutely wild song. second half of the album is definitely an unexpected switchup, not in a bad way

The Only Good Indians is probably a good introduction since it’s fairly recent and I think a great representation of his style.

I strongly disagree - I really think The Manuscript, Robin, The Black Dog, The Albatross, Cassandra, The Prophecy are all way up there. The Bolter is a great mix of her older sound and her newer lyrics / subject matter. So High School is also a blast too, though it kinda sticks out on side 2 a little bit. The first album is probably more fun but the second album is actually very strong too. Both halves or sides or whatever we are calling them could have and should have been trimmed by a few songs each though.

I didn't like the first disc of this much at all but I really like the second. the three song run it ends on is really fantastic. The Bolter is probably the closest thing to a classically catchy/single-sounding (I'm very tired idk) Taylor song on here

these are pretty much my takes too. all 3 are good but Sickness is the only one I can really see improving the album, would slot nicely between Shake and the t/t. Are You Even Here feels a bit like a Bygones demo that's 3/4ths there but not quite done yet, and the lyrics to Sacrifice just don't really do the song justice - main riff is fucking nasty though

All three are pretty interesting. Just the chorus of Are You Even Here kind of doesn't do enough for me and Sacrifice feels a lot like Break for most of it. At Sickness for sure should have made the album New Trio songs though, love it. All really good.

DE has been a very interesting album in their discography and I can see now longtime fans could put it in the middle or lower end of their ranking. However there was something so magical about being a fan when that album came out. Right on the cusp of summer ‘10. The band sounded so rejuvenated. Chino looked the most healthy he looked in years. Songs like Sextape and 976 Evil having these romantic lyrics about Chi. I remember hearing that chino scream on Royal for the first time whilst playing the Halo Reach beta and I was just absolutely in shock.

I think Fireal is pretty tremendous too. Foreshadows a little of what was to come, and is very different from the rest of the tracks on there.
