my face if they draft Daniel Jones & Kelvin Harmon like I did though Trade down with the Packers. Get both and still have your second round pick in case Dillard, Risner, or Little fall to round 2

Shit haha. Just realized there is one person on the board I actually want even more than Scharping. I'd change it if you guys would allow it but that's up to y'all.

This Jags draft really fucking needs an offensive tackle. -Cam Robinson tore his ACL which could stunt his growth. He had a good rookie season but still has raw technique. -Jermey Parnell has sucked since he got here. Most obvious player we are cutting to save money. -Brandon Flowers needs to walk right back out that revolving door he came in through. -Josh Wells is a solid backup but he's due a contract and we are broke. -Injury put us through 7 offensive tackles last year, and our 4th round pick Will Richardson never saw the field. The Jags just put him on IR way late in the season, even though his knee injury wasn't season-long. I cannot explain this. Jaguars select Max Scharping, OT, Northern Illinois. Idk if he was on anyone else's radar here, but he's the last quality power-blocking tackle on the board imo. Stupendous resume', he allowed 1 sack in 3 years. And despite an outmatched team, did not allow a single pressure against Brian Burns (FSU), Zack Allen (Boston College), or BYU / Utah. Imo publications aren't giving him enough love, they're nitpicking because the stats are too good to be true and because he's not athletic enough to play on the left side. But in round 3? I say, good thing Cam Robinson is a left tackle. At WORST Max can still kick inside to replace A.J. Cann. Max is not a clean prospect, his kickslide is stiff and not wide enough, sometimes he'll cross his feet instead of shuffling them to keep up with speedrushers. He's also not terribly athletic & could improve flexibility to sink his hips more consistently, BUT a power blocking team that wants him at right tackle is a great fit that conceals that flaw. He won't be asked to pull block very often, plus he can execute reach blocks & drive blocks in a phonebooth. He's also the only quality "strong guy" left, who wouldn't get FLATTENED by JJ Watt. Strengths: he's awesome with his hand use & angles, and cunning to know how to get the job done even if it's gotta be ugly. He smacks down inside counter-moves with jab punches, uses his 6'6" length very well on the outside arc, and once his hands are in place he straight up CONTROLS the defender. Also, for some reason every website says he's very even keeled & mentally sound during games, which is good news. Impressively strong hands & long arms, sturdy enough to anchor, and he does the talking in the running game. Right this way, Leonard Fournette.

Atlanta Falcons select Michael Deiter, OL, Wisconsin Falcons need help on both sides of the line and get great value here. Deiter may never be elite but he has a high-floor and should be a reliable interior lineman for the Falcons.

Buffalo Bills select Devin Singletary, RB from Lane Kiffin U. I guess based on my picks thus far I am assuming the Bills found an WR, OG and OT in free agency, then filled OC with Bradbury and TE with Hockenson which fills most of the needs there. Gerald McCoy fills the primary need on defense which is a replacement for Kyle Williams. That leaves running back. Lesean McCoy will be 31 this season and really struggled last year, as did the OL but I digress. Even if he has a decent bounce back year in 2019, he is on the wrong side of 30 and the Bills have no young options at RB currently. McCoy and Chris Ivory are over 30 and 2017 waiver wire addition Marcus Murphy is 28. It's time to groom an heir apparent for when McCoy's contract expires. @xkj1985x blow that 28-3 lead

Washington selects... Ryan Finley, QB, NC State The team that traded for Alex Smith would be the one who would be interested in a guy I have seen described as “a less athletic Alex Smith” and Tre Lamar, ILB, Clemson This linebacker draft class falls off quick after the first 2 or 3 guys, but Washington probably needs a replacement for Zach Brown and take one of the guys near the top of that second tier

As far as the Jags, well I just got my favorite QB, WR, and RB in the draft so I’m pretty fuckin jazzed about that haha Kept wanting to trade up for a DT or an OT but the players that fell to me were still choices I was thoroughly happy with. Our offense was fucking dumb last year, we obviously need more playmakers.

Dexter Lawrence & Marquise Brown were my top options for the Chargers’ first two picks, so I went in a very different direction lol... Those things would’ve helped the Chargers become more well rounded. But I think drafting an athletic / lengthy OT and an exotic gadget pass rusher, helps the Chargers keep up with the Chiefs and that’s even more important tbh

The Indianapolis Colts select... Yodny Cajuste, OT, West Virginia Anthony Castonzo will be 31 by the time this season starts, and while the Colts' interior line depth is great, they don't have much of anything behind the LT. I think they try to get the LT of the future in this draft and give him a year to develop behind Castonzo before handing the reins over next offseason. If Cajuste is still available this late, the Colts should be all over this.

Philadelphia Eagles Select | Amani Oruwariye | CB, Penn State. Eagles continue to load up on the defensive side of the ball (please just sign Desean Jackson). Oruwariye brings some size to the Eagles secondary who, in large part, is on the small side. The Eagles corner spot is going to be a weird one to watch going into camp this year. Sidney Jones is still highly thought of but through his first two seasons, he's been unable to really be relied on due to continuous soft tissue injuries. 2019 will be a big year for him. Jury is still out as to whether or not Ronald Darby will be back this year...Jalen Mills is coming back from a season ending injury. Avonte Maddox and Cre'von LeBlanc played well down the stretch. Realistic to think that all three corner spots are open to win going into fall camp. Oruwariye brings size (6'1" 204lbs) and length to battle with the more physical receivers the Eagles will face. Brings some scheme versatility which Jim Schwartz covets so throw this one into the competition pile for an open job for the Eagles in 2019.

Honestly if the Bears slotted Malik next to Eddie Goldman and Akiem Hicks, at his most comfortable position, with Mack & Floyd dominating on the edge? That would complete their front 7 and they’d be legitimately scary up front Too bad they can’t afford him either lol

He’s above average. We definitely overpaid him to be a 4-3 DT because he doesn’t have a great feel for defending the run from that position. But a lot of 4-3 teams use their 3 tech primarily to attack the backfield & overwhelm guards, which he’s good at.... and he IS a better run defender from the 3-4 defensive end spot (which he proved in Denver)

  32. Randall Mentzos replied to the thread 2019 Chorus.fm NFL Mock Draft Thread Vol. 1.

It’s definitely a little messy to keep him on the books, but I haven’t drafted a DT yet... and Taven Bryan so far looks like more of a run defender than a pass rusher. His development curve is gonna take time, for now I almost see Bryan like A) a good backup to Campbell B) a 5th “Big” DL we add to goal line & 46 formations. If we don’t take part in the great DT talent this year, I’d be more comfortable letting Dareus go and keeping Malik one more year. We don’t really have a strong backup option at 3 technique. Dareus is not as viable to shift to the other DT spot as he once was. Meanwhile Abry Jones has shown he can play the nose tackle position - inconsistent results, but at times he plays great at that position.

Not necessarily this year. We could wait a year. And he will have a market if he walks. It’s not out of the question that a team wants first dibs, especially since he’s scheme versatile and could easily go back to being a 3-4 end if a team feels like he was a misfit in Jax

Welp. Making this move probably means keeping Malik on the books for one more year but fuck it, I have another player in mind Id like to cut for at least half that much money. If my guy is still there you have a deal.
