Thought this was bad/ok? I actually love “Breakers Roar” but the digital photography in the forest scene and in DC just don’t do it for me, they look bad to my eyes. Liked how much of an unexpected road movie this was, and it’s an interesting way to mount the movie around photo journalism. Its apolitical nature wants to be provocative but also feels kind of limiting after a while, and like a cop out when all is said and done. Tedious, hamfisted and empty, with some great performances (Dunst, Spaeny, Plemmons). I’d also agree Spaeny’s arc doesn’t work for me. I thought about Twister a lot??

This is gonna be a hard record for people to accept in the moment with its sonic similarities to the previous 3 records. But I do think it’s her best offering front to back in some time. Very curious how it grows.

Gotta feel like this is the “last one”. Would be really shocked if the next record was a continuation of this.

Hoping it brings new appreciation/listeners to this band instead of turning them into a Swiftie easter egg. I evangelize this band to everyone I can but my relationship with Hats and A Walk Across Rooftops is extremely personal.

Kind of like the juxtaposition of the absurd song titles and the actual music. Halfway through. Down Bad, Tortured Poets Department and Daddy are my faves. I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I’m enjoying this.

I really don’t like this rollout. The poet schtick just doesn’t work for me. “Sincerely the Chairman of the Tortured Poets Department” is some real YA nonsense. Smells a little too much like Lemony Snicket for me.

Saw them tonight, they opened a sold out show for a band I’ve never heard of and kinda blew the doors off the place. Really excellent live show, especially for a three piece. left like, I’m legit excited for what this band could be also I was the oldest person there with ease pretty much lol

The FC to CE run is incredible. FC is and always will be my favorite. I was a freshman in high school…Full Collapse, Tell All Your Friends and LIFTED are probably the 3 most formative records of my life.
