They did though I'm not sure how much of a following they still have. All pop-punk bands of that era had a make or break point. MxPx attempted to cross over with their 2000 and 2003 releases but it just never worked out.

Good Charlotte and NFG were still openers for major tours in '01. Good Charlotte opened for MxPx and NFG opened for Less Than Jake that very year. Both had moderate radio success on their respective albums that they were promoting that year and then fully crossed over the next year.

Yeah I think it was really more out of respect of MxPx's longevity that it was a co-headliner. This was SP's victory lap in the No Pads era and they were clearly the reason it was selling out 3-4k capacity places. Sidenote, openers were great on that tour at least on my leg (Sugarcult, Motion City Soundtrack).

Yeah and I imagine they hated that during the 00s. They co-headlined with MxPx in '04 and I remember there were a portion of MxPx fans who were up in arms about it (hilarious in retrospect).

I find it wild that it took until 2020 for Simple Plan and NFG to attempt to tour together. I found it slightly opportunistic on NFG's part as, I imagine, Simple Plan probably tried to tour with them back in the early 00's but I imagine NFG's team felt they weren't "authentic" or whatever due to the scene divide at the time.

I'm still....kinda surprised by the Tate McRae rise. Granted I am WAY out of her demo but it seems like such average music in really crowded genre.

Eh the term festival is really just "concert that starts in the daytime" these days. I don't love all those acts and taste is subjective but I WILL point out that this very site celebrates nostalgia of Metro Station, A Day To Remember, Dance Gavin Dance, etc so, yeah....

They probably have a high guarantee and thus tickets need to be priced at this level. Could be crews/buses are more expensive, big production, etc.

According to Google is 1100 but given it's Norwalk, CT a lot of tours that can easily fill twice that in major cities may struggle.

As someone who grew up in Fairfield County (New Canaan/Darien) would have been awesome to have these options as alternatives to taking the train into the city or schlepping to LI/NJ/Hartford

I think it’s a venue they restored, used to be called something else. I’m surprised by some of the bookings there, both the Lauren Mayberry and Travis tours played there after playing 45 miles down the road at Webster Hall. I saw both tours at WH last week and Lauren was maybe 2/3 full at best.
