Ohhhhh my god there’s a throwback. Wasn’t this one of those Sunday night movies?

This movie gave me terrible nightmares I still recall vividly. I saw it in the theater and can remember sitting there about ten minutes in and thinking “no I don’t like this.”

I read the title and immediately had that image burst into my brain. I still never allow myself to remember that Martin Landau was involved.

“what can change the ways my mind dictates the place I stay? but whatever my mind decides i'll have to catch the signs” This album feels so warm to me. Yesterday I had this on while driving home from a long, difficult day at work and I just got lost in thought. You ever hear a piece of music and immediately feel thrown deep into a memory you’ve long forgotten about where it’s warm and safe even if the memory itself is a little rough around the edges and you can’t quite make out what it even is beyond feelings and colors? I don’t know if that makes sense. Thank you, Malcolm.

Are you seriously saying you read all of those paragraphs and what you got from it was that I ...dont..think.. women commit violent crimes?? Like honestly that irks me beyond belief but to answer your ridiculous question: no, I’m not a fucking idiot. We are specifically talking about mass shootings and killing rampages a la the fucking joker in case you forgot what thread were in

So a year ago right around this time I had a breakdown out of what felt like nowhere. It wound up being life changing but at the time absolutely everything was a gut punch. There was a day some time during the holidays when my son was watching Frozen for the millionth time and for some reason it just hit me how much of that movie was an allegory for depression. I was sitting there watching in tears even though I’d seen it so many times before. When Anna shows up at Elsa’s ice palace and says “Please don’t shut me out again” while Elsa just spirals inside her mind with “I’m such a fool, I can’t be free,” well...that really broke me.

Y’all!!!!!!! I took my test today and I passed!!! I feel so relieved and proud of myself! I’m going straight to my grandmas bc she has no idea I even got my permit. She’s gonna lose her mind! And tomorrow I’m showing up at my brothers with pizza to surprise them.

Frozen, and like every other Disney movie, did a better job at showing how childhood trauma can lead to mental health issues and I'm not even joking

How the fuck are officials still “stunned” by literally anything he does. Fuck everything about that.

Yeah exactly. In reality marginalized people get treated badly every day and somehow don’t become mass murderers. Imagine that.

I hate the whole "see this is what happens when you treat people badly, you create the school shooters!" Idk it just feels like they're trying to shift the blame away from the mass murderer

I mean the glowing praise is the whole thing? Lol Also can’t speak for anyone else but for me I can’t help but roll my eyes to see something like this framed as ~a natural progression~ essentially to be expected, as in “what we witnessed in this film was the result of unresolved generational trauma” it’s honestly insulting. Women have been traumatized in childhood and have unresolved mental illness all the fucking time but going on a killing rampage through society strangely enough isn’t seen as the inevitable outcome of our trauma. I’m not tired of a conversation about mental illness, I’m tired of toxic masculinity mental illness being the only one that anyone legitimizes and talks about. It makes it seem like acts of violence are the only manifestation of mental illness that matters.
