we should focus that energy into something worth bullying Like when he wrote a song about shooting rope

I mean I flat out wouldn’t even give the last two albums more than one listen if it was another band. There’s tons of bands out there that are just fine but I never listen to them because I just don’t feel compelled to. That’s what TDS would be to me if coming home and gravity were their debut and sophomore releases

honestly surprised how cool people are on this album. but i will fully admit i do not think they have put out a bad album (aside from maybe blue sky) and think coming home was decent even if not as good as the first two

I honestly think What’s An Hour Really Worth fucking rules. Got a three hour drive on my own tomorrow, and back on Sunday. Gonna do a discography run.

I've been listening to WIP all week, in fact. It definitely still hits.

Fire is an all timer for me but that’s it and it’s pretty low on my rank of all timers

I wonder how much of it is us being younger when those albums hit.. I listened to Work in Progress yesterday, and imagined if it had been released on this newest album instead of War Paint. Would it really stand out as 100 times better than the rest of Gravity? I dont think so honestly. I think a lot of it was us being younger when these songs hit. Just an idea

None of those would even contend for my top 25.

You can definitely tell they were finding their footing again with S/T, but there is an earnestness to that record that really elevates it for me. You can hear how much it meant to them to be making music again

Yeah that’s the problem in my head with Golden Record vs S/T. Catholic Girls is an all timer and maybe a top 3 song for me … but other than maybe Miles Apart & Sins, I don’t care for the rest of it. Give me the album with consistent good-ish than mostly bad (or forgettable I guess since I can’t remember much else on that album) (when comparing GR and S/T)

Color, This is life, Infinite, Ghosts, & Fire are all really good to me. Looking at tracklist Luna is the only one I skip. The others I remember really liking just I would need a re-listen to refresh haha

A few listens in. This sits behind RFTS, War Paint, and Mother Nature, in that bracket with Golden Record and the S/T where I like it, but I only love particular songs. Pacific Ocean, Gravity, What’s An Hour Really Worth, Where Did All The Time Go are currently my favourites. Pacific Ocean, in particular, had guitars that really reminded me of their early work. I’d love them to use that style more again going forward. I feel like there was a strong record in here, but it got rushed out, maybe following the lukewarm reaction to Coming Home?

Yeah I think With My Pen is fine. My least favorite tracks are actually that middle section of Turning Love Into War and Where Did All the Time Go. There's nothing really outstanding or terrible on here imo

Yeah I don't see what would be the issue with it. It's def solid and great chorus

Remember AP.net collectively freaking out over Work In Progress? Potentially the high point for this band.

Listened to GR yesterday at the gym. Good songs for sure, some really excellent stuff too. But it’s held back by a spotty performance
