I was at the actual Wrecking Ball show at Giants Stadium, it was so damn cool. Also I'm from Monmouth County NJ, Bruce lives a town over and Ill occasionally see him at the record store, so growing up having him pushed on me my whole life was so annoying, and I started with Nebraska cause of Atlantic City and then Darkness on the Edge of Town completely made me a disciple. And it's awesome that he's still just a neighborhood guy.

yo @irthesteve - as someone who's been into the Woo catalog for over half my life, I personally want to thank you and Shout for doing the actual lord's work. In high school my friends and I were nerds and looked for the killer and or hard boiled at blockbuster every weekend, it was like our mini film school. I got hooked, was able to find the USA box of better tomorrow 1 and 2 at a borders, and then found a site called HKFlix where I was able to get region 1 hard boiled that was passable. Eventually I was able too score the Dragon Dynasty blu discs - as well as the ps3 special edition of stranglehold which actually released before the dragon dynasty disc - but to see these movies get the love they really deserve and hopefully introduce a new generation to the work, that's just incredible. Already got my City on Fire, and my digital version of hard boiled on prime already was upgraded too, but reading the details on the physicals for both HB and the Trilogy? Just wow. For a company I already supported, didn't think I could become such a fan of a business. In short: hell yeah, can't wait to see what extras are with the Killer

I loved the book - Nebraska was the first Springsteen album I found and fell for on my own, hard to do when you grow up on the jersey shore and see the guy around town on occasion, so I'm really excited that this looks so good and focuses on what it does. Sidenote: one Sunday maybe 15-20 years ago I was at my regular local record shop, which is also Bruce's, and at the same time both Bruce and Ari Katz from lifetime were both there shopping. I feel like the only one who knew and was freaking out inside

i'm about 3/4 of the way through already since it went up on Patreon today. Fascinating. Both of these episodes have filled in so much backstory of info I've had a version of for years and years. This is so great, honestly the best interview with any member of this band ever. I've never heard such blunt, blatant honesty.

I always appreciate when you post about PFB, also makes me think we'd be good buds hah. Thom's my best friend, has been for like idk almost 15 years. But I easily separate the man from the music, and goddamn do I also love the music. I'll never forget the reaction when Desideratum came out, or the Below the House release show after I'd been hearing versions of songs for almost a year while going through a dying relationship myself - or the two weeks we spent together on tour that summer of 2017. To say I've heard hundreds of variations on what ICIE became over these last 7 or so years would be an understatement. I'm so goddamn proud of him and of the reaction the album's seemed to get, especially when he was on tour. As PG99 said and Thom taught me, love your friends, die laughing.

HELL YEAH TEAM JAZZMASTER FOREVER. I have two, a 2007 AVRI and a 97 MIJ model that I hotrodded. I still want another to put a real humbucker in, but nothing beats a Jazzmaster for me.

nice bass there! just learn a bunch of Cure lines, stuff like the Lovecats and Fascination Street. So fun. I'll have to show off and explain my guitar/recording rig later.

I had a period of being way into the souls - like, Anchors Aweigh era up until Ghosts on the Boardwalk. Local guys, my good friend was the only employee of their "label" for a while, but I just can't stand them anymore. Every year they don't book someone I need to see at the summer show is a year I'm excited as hell. But I think my anger comes from Pete recording my old band's second and last EP and totally ruining the sounds, spending no time on it, and charging us way more than the friends rate he said he would. We got closer to the sound of the band recording drums in a rehearsal room and doing the rest at home, he made it sound like bad pop punk instead of noisy gothy screamo. That eventually broke up the band after we played one show with Old Grey at the original Asbury Lanes (RIP the greatest place on earth) and the whole crowd besides maybe 3 people just stared at us confused. I guess this being 2014 maybe we were a little early, but yeah, fuck Pete.

Decided to sign back up today for the first time since the AP.net days cause ive enjoyed reading the discourse, and I just need to talk AFI for a minute. Got into the band thanks to an older neighbor giving me black sails, I became obsessed with art of drowning - playing along to those records was so important to my guitar playing. I've seen afi 3+ times on every tour since 2003, even flew to California for the sing the sorrow show and the Missing man release show (their best setlist ever), and I've grown to know the guys on a level where DXH calls me jersey Steve. The last album I LOVED was Burials, it's a dark masterpiece, exploratory and bleak.Blood has some cool moments, Bodies has a small handful of tracks, and I had no idea what to expect with this new stuff. What I expected least was them to finally go full deathrock/goth/post punk, after years of flirting with it and wearing the t shirts that got me into music like joy division and Bauhaus as a 13 year old. These new songs are wildly exciting, it feels like a band playing the music they love that made them want to be a band in the first place in a way. Pulling from so many references and making it all their own, it's gotten me wildly excited for the shows im seeing on the upcoming tour. Put on some eyeliner and batcave dance your hearts out. Let's goooo. Also the Hardlore interview is basically what I've always wanted to hear from any of the guys, the real shit. The only other lost "grail" I know of is the dvd shot in 00-01 that dreamworks killed when they signed their deal. AFI forever
