weird to be complaining about Ian in a thread about a band he was very positive about and was the reason why I first heard of them. Anyway. This sounds awesome so far.

unfortunately I don’t have an answer for you but I’d be very interested in what people recommend and what you end up doing. I have an AT120 through pre-amp, receiver, passive speakers, and it’s annoying as hell to move, takes up a lot of space, and is not pleasant to look at.

setup talk: I currently have an ATLP-120 with an upgraded shure m97xe cartridge running through a yamaha receiver to a pair of sony bookshelf speakers. this setup is... hefty. we recently moved to a new space, and the record player is in the main living space. I want to get something a little more aEsThEtIcAlLy pleasing, and I've got my eye on the white u-turn orbit plus with the built in phono pre amp and red ortofon cart. to cut down on how much real estate the player takes up, Id like to run it to some powered speakers. Am i cheating myself of sound quality if i go with these Edifiers R1280DBs or should i splurge for some Kantos/Klipsch/AudioEngine speakers? others recs for powered speakers are welcome too, and if the red cart is overkill for what I'm wanting to do. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08865JM4N/?tag=absolutepunk-20

Geez saw it was 7 minutes and got stoked and then realized it's the closer about 3/4 of the way through. Easily the best song since their comeback though.

lol what the fuck? andrew is an incredible vocalist and the entire reason i even gave this a shot. his guest spots on evaporate and nothing shameful by dgd are highlights of their respective albums. without his named attached i def wouldnt even give a shit. and ill be honest, a lot of this is just your typical emo-prog shit from the late 00s and early 10's but his voice elevates it and gives it a quality that keeps me enthralled every step of the way. the unclean vocalist just sounds like an alternate version of jon mess which is totally fine with me.

Lots of this sounds like a band of missionaries hijacked Closure in Moscow, with DGD style uncleans occasionally sprinkled in to questionable effect. Some cool instrumentals, but how's that new CiM record coming along? lol.

I can see both sides. On one hand, a bad screen protector might distort your screen, but they protect your investment, and with the screens being perfectly flat again the screen protectors fit better.
