I will say that I’ve come around on Horror recently and I like a good half of it. Definitely better than Farm To Table.. which isn’t saying much. However, I put Live Forever on the other day and got bummed out on where Bartees has gone since. He has somewhere out there demos for a proper follow up that I hope see the light of day down the road. How do I know this? Because he played a bunch of them when I saw him on tour before he recorded Farm and they were BANGERS.

The debut was easily my favorite and I like each follow up way less than the previous

Yeah, White Reaper also bored me outside the singles and Coma. That was also a big disappointment. What’s wild is the 7 inch that White Reaper and Spiritual Cramp put out together last year has back to back bangers that clear most of the tracks off their new records lol

I’m going to listen to it a few more times over the weekend because I love this band but man.. the vocals sound like Mike is on autopilot to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I can understand the let down if you compare this to their older stuff. This is undeniably poppy as hell by almost any standard, which contrasts pretty hard against their old raw sound. But give it a chance. Feels like the Spiritual Cramp DNA is still there for sure, so you might come around to it after a bit.

Their debut (I don’t count their 2018 compilation) was my favorite record of 2023 and I saw these guys four times on that record touring cycle including their album release show at Killowatt in SF. They crushed it every time and I was unbelievably hyped for their follow up.. However, it legitimately bums me out to say this record is boring and forgettable IMO. It’s toothless compared to their debut and a large part is due to Mike’s vocals. That attitude/energy he previously had feels almost completely gone here. Sure, there’s a few solid tracks (nothing that blows me away), but overall this is a total sophomore slump to me. Massive bummer. Even “Go Back Home” didn’t deliver as much as I expected it too.

I have well over 100 spins on this record and Didn’t Warn You just hit. The staying value of this one is great.

I’ve been playing this on repeat all day and I love it more and more on every listen. Absolutely making my end of year list. Big bummer on the vinyl not being sent out til February and being just standard black though.

Even though I prefer the alt-country side of All Get Out, this is still very good, and still has some of those elements here too. Fans of all eras of this band should find something to enjoy IMO. Favorites off my first listen are Yadi Yada, Out Of Your Mind, and Enough About God. Good stuff Nathan!

Part of me wants to wait til Friday so the band gets more money (Bandcamp still does that right?) from the purchase but I don’t know if I can wait that long

Damn, that was a beautiful tribute Fred gave. He’s really come such a long way in his older years of expressing himself and being more vulnerable. Love that. My heart goes out to the guys. You can tell how heartbroken they are over this if you go on their socials and they’re having this career resurgence but now one of the founding members are gone.. it’s just tragic. Time to put on Three Dollar Bill Y’all and listen to Sam absolutely crush it.

i dont think kennys ever been an excellent writer, although for the time period/his age he was probably head and shoulders above most other pop punk bands, but the chorus of bedroom talk is a bit beyond 'one bad lyric' lol. it hits the same way a lot of latter day max bemis lyrics hit. why do u need to say that brother

Gonna throw on Re-Arranged, this sucks. Him and Otto are the true unsung heroes of the band, that section was crazy tight and really added something to that band.

It was a misstep and it got taken way too serious. For that time it wasn’t really THAT odd of a phrase to be said out loud.
