Very real possibility, but I still want to catch one of these. Just not sure how possible getting tickets will be lol

Got the signed deluxe but sad about tour dates. The Chicago date is the night before Coachella so I can’t see how I can make it work. I’m hoping she adds a 2nd night that Wednesday, but also might just have to go to Nashville or something

“Something” is a fucking all-timer. They should have done more George songs.

Abbey Road is a great album but it’s not even one of my top 3 Beatles albums. Side two is doing a lot of the heavy lifting for me (except for Something, which is 10/10)

it is going to be very close haha. might wait to call it until later than usual tomorrow night just to give people a chance. nine albums by my count that could feasibly win this or force a tie

    1. Black Sabbath: Paranoid 2. The Velvet Underground: Loaded 3. Joni Mitchell: Ladies of the Canyon Just cut: Paul McCartney: McCartney Led Zeppelin III Other cuts: The Beatles: Let It Be George Harrison: All Things Must Pass The Kinks: Lola vs Powerman Diana Ross: Diana Ross 1 & 2 were easy choices, but I did struggle who to put at 3. I have a lot of love for McCartney I (maybe more than it deserves lol) but there’s better things to come from Paul’s post Beatles output. And Zeppelin III is also great but not my favorite from them, so I had to go with Joni

It does, but it’s coming 2-3 months late, I think, due to vinyl delays. If Taylor had a pressing plant, maybe she could have saved Olivia that delay!

Taylor Swift should probably just build her own pressing plant at this point, if the past year is any indication of her output over the next 3-5.

This is a fun song! I'm excited to hear the whole album. Really got into her and the Supremes over the last year, so the timing is perfect The Jack Antonoff discourse is sooo annoying to me. People just have to be negative about things, it's an inevitably I suppose but I hate it (Not to mention imo it discredits the artists, acting like Jack is the architect of all their music rather than helping them execute their own artistic vision)

Man, people whining about Antonoff has just been the constant theme of my Twitter feed over the past three weeks, and this album announcement is bringing another bout. People are insufferable. Excited for this, though!

I personally love the Chicago Theater. As long as you don't mind the assigned seating, it's a beautiful venue. You can use Spot Hero to park in a nearby garage for about $20. I'm not sure if you've been to that Detroit venue, but I had an AWFUL experience the one time I went there. I was coming from work and got there right around when it started, and there was literally nowhere for me to be in the venue. It's also a seated venue (except a small pit area) but it's all GA still, and I couldn't get in the pit, couldn't find a seat, and got yelled at by staff anywhere I tried to stand. But it was a fully sold out (at least I think) show, so I'm sure it's not nearly as bad if you get there a little earlier

  22. mattfreaksmeout liked George's post in the thread 1970 in music..

I listened to Alice Coltrane’s Journey in Satchidananda. I didn’t know of her beforehand, but obviously recognised the surname. It’s trippy, very psychedelic jazz, clearly taking a big influence from Indian instrumentation and spiritual sounds which were relatively popular at this time. It’s experimental but not completely out of the box like someone like Sun Ra felt to me. It did blend a little into the background at times, and I don’t have any specific stand out songs or moments - but it’s an interesting listen that I imagine might be even better in certain circumstances.
