I think the EP strategy is hit or miss, but I do agree it did not work here. I really had the impression it was supposed to be a standalone thing to tide us over until the full album. To me it works if you do the EP in lieu of singles, but I'm not wild on the full EP a year early, and then multiple singles this year (just one I think with the announcement of the album would have worked).

As a very recent Lights fan I just did a full catalog run through, and Skin & Earth was easily my least favorite. It just feels so dated. Maybe if I heard it back in 2017 I would've been more receptive, but listening now it just sounds like what every pop artist was doing back then. A6 is my favorite but it is very different from the rest of her catalog (aside from White Paper Palm Trees). Like Steve said PEP is probably the best starting point as it blends a bunch of her eras.

I really like this quite a bit. But then again I was a lot more positive about Humble Quest & the EP than most of you. I'm a pretty casual fan though.

Awesome thanks, I'll give PEP a go soon!

Hard question, but maybe either Skin&Earth or PEP to get a lot of different styles from her. Little Machines is the most straightforward pop, you know Siberia it seems, and the debut is very dated but not in a bad way. My gut is telling me PEP for you, then Skin&Earth

Where would you recommend starting with her? I dabbled a bit with the first couple albums, especially Siberia back when it came out but haven't ever really fully listened to anything and am interested in starting.

I mean that was a good PR spin because she wasn't going to be filling arenas after the (unfair) response to Solar Power. But also Solar Power in general really would not have worked in an arena setting, I'll give her that. After the Charli song and the initial response to What Was That, I think she will definitely move more tickets this go around. What Was That feels a lot more fitting for arenas.

They really should have opened with the other songs and then closed with PV

I enjoyed the last album a lot when it came out, but I really haven't gone back to it much at all since then and honestly can't remember most of it. I will defend Altogether though, which I think has aged really well. Haven't heard the new ones yet, but I'm excited for them.

I agree it's her peak, but Red Moon In Venus is right there for me too. I would call Orquideas great, but it does have a handful that are more forgettable. I'm a little worried about this album, I hope it's got some stuff that's a little more fun than the two singles

Doing a discog run this week and 2018-2020 Kali was such a killer era for her. Isolation, the TO FEEL ALIVE ep which I always forget how much I love, 10%, her vocals on the Little Dragon song, Time with the Free Nationals & Mac. Just hit after hit tbh

I thought Momma was a possibility but I don't know why they'd be withheld since their Thalia Hall show this month is already sold out, so Ratboys probably does make a lot of sense and I'd be very happy with that. Great Grandpa being on here is awesome too
