An Evening With Mark Hoppus last night in Chicago was electric. I just cracked the book this morning, so I am not sure how much of the live stories are represented in there, but I'll spoiler tag my show-specific thoughts.

it’s even worse in a festival setting. Imagine being on your feet 10+ hours at that point of the day and you’re dying for them to start and this shit happens lmao

That makes the $40 Tid The Season 2018 look the best value show in years lol. I remember they played at like 5pm. Good for them getting that money and top festival lineup placements a few short years later.

A local news station just dropped that a charity event will be auctioning off a signed guitar and “two concert tickets during her upcoming 2026 tour” so it looks like she may be back on the road next year.

Turnstile got those $150k+ guarantees from the Blink tour and never looked back. This fall tour is gonna be priced like an A-list arena act.

6k capacity in Brooklyn for TSSF. So surreal seeing these types of bands play this dance club. You can literally get bottle service for this show lol

Here to give a little different take on All Things Go as a past attendee attending again this year. What appeals to a lot of people about this festival in particular is that it is heavily catered to queer women. Last year had many queer artists, a lesbian bar onsite, free sexual and reproductive health services, etc.. My wife and I have never felt more comfortable being a couple at a show and that’s why we are going again. I get that it ultimately is a corporate shrill, but feeling safe somewhere in a time of crisis for LGBT+ people is very important.

Hello - insider here. In general, festival appearances are a higher guarantee than a headline show / tour package. Individual dates can make the band more money, but they also come with higher expenses. Let’s say you’re an artist booked to play Riot Fest at a middle spot on the poster. They’ll pay you a flat fee of $30k. You’ll still need to pay your own team (managers, agents, crew) but the band doesn’t have any financial risk. Now let’s say you’re on a headline tour and hit The Metro in Chicago. Usually it’ll be a guarantee vs deal, so throwing numbers out $20k vs 80% of ticket sales. This means you’ll get paid 20k regardless of ticket sales, but if it’s a sellout crowd and 80% of that is $40k then that’s what you’ll walk away with. However, that doesn’t include venue cuts, marketing budget, the venue crew that you have to pay for, on top of the standard manager/agents/crew cuts. TL;DR: Festivals are a a higher guarantee and require less work from the band but have a lower ceiling. Individual dates are higher risk but higher reward.

Blink-182's Mark Hoppus Says His Memoir Doesn't Make Tom DeLonge Out to Be a 'Villain': 'He's My Best Friend' (Exclusive) HOPPUS: Not yet, but we are about to. literally found out by Tom doing an interview with our friend Toby Morse from H2O, saying that we were going to start demoing songs this summer. So I was like, “Oh, okay. Cool. Guess I'm writing a new album this summer. Great. Can't wait.” PEOPLE: Is the tour name an album title you're considering? HOPPUS: I don't think so. It’s a great tour name and really clever and funny, but we haven't even started to come up with a great title for the next record yet. I keep wanting to call an album Pretty Nuts. PEOPLE: Do you have any plans to write another book at any point? HOPPUS: People want another book. My publishers asked for what ideas I have for a second book, and I love writing and the process. I don't know what it would be about, maybe more stories or maybe other memories or things that didn't make the book. But yeah, I would love to write more books. It's cathartic, it's fun, it's different, and I get a lot of the same joy from creating a book as I do from writing an album.

It's funny to hear about how the record label heard the initial TOYPAJ and sent the band back because there was no clear single.......and yet, no one at Interscope had those kind of notes when they heard Neighborhoods?? Not that its THAT bad of an album. But you figure when the multi-platinum Top 40 rock act is reuniting the label would've been expecting/pushing for that Bored To Death type song.

Totally my thought too. I wanted stuff about like deep cuts. Give me how you came up with Don’t Leave Me! I need the East Target story. I wanna hear how it was recorded. What came first? When did everyone decide Mutt wasn’t the single?
