Hubie Halloween is something I have to watch every October. I think my gf is dreading it already.

Thought this was entertaining and took me back in time. The original is my favorite Adam Sandler movie. It has the rewatch factor. I did not get that with this sequel though. as far as new Adam Sandler movies go….Hubie Halloween is where it’s at. Would love a sequel to that one. Even if it takes place around another holiday.

The Eric Andre/Margaret Qualley/Martin Herlihy recreational golf buds segment felt like an ad to get young people to go out and play golf on their local course for fun. And honestly it kinda worked on me. I kinda wanna go golfing now. Also them casting basically every top ten PGA player and the whole plot being about how golf is cool the way it is kinda felt like a big pitch to get people interested in watching golf.

I managed to walk 8 1/2 miles today and that layout kind of sucks, it’s just sprawling and huge. Felt like they oversold things, but it’s apparently the largest single day of Warped ever with 80K sold. I’ve never seen VIP even reach capacity before, so that’s a new one. With 9 stages, there were a lot of bands playing to pretty small crowds on the side stages. Cartel was relegated to a small one and put on a hell of a show (and gave away a Labubu). Special guests today included April & Phil Margera introducing CKY and Vic Fuentes doing a surprise set at the acoustic stage.

Drain: “Lets give a hand for the security. Can you call for backup? You’re gonna need it.” And Girlfriends brought out the Anaheim Ducks mascot. That was pretty cool.

This was a ton of fun. I was expecting the constant callbacks and cameos to be annoying, but they felt like a genuine celebration of one of Sandler’s most beloved roles. The long gap between sequels worked in its favour, and the tone is also weirder than I expected but it in a good way

This was extremely fun, silly, and dumb. Exactly all it needed to be. Kinda went overboard with the cameos and callbacks but whatever. Bad Bunny showed he could be a lead in a comedy, just oozing charisma that guy. This was Haley Joel Osmont's best ever role in the comedic character actor part of his career. Christopher McDonald ate up every single second he was on screen, he was clearly having a blast.

Margaret Qualley needs to do more comedy. She was funny in this.

I got a soft spot in my heart for Bulletproof. It was one of the first R rated action movies my dad let me watch. I haven't seen it in like 25 years.

Chuck & Larry and Zohan are both much more egregious than Eight Crazy Nights, which, I don't know if it holds up, but was very fun at the time of release. I won't touch Jack and Jill since it seems like an obvious nadir but I have zero recollection of watching pieces of it with my father-in-law. The Al Pacino Dunkin scene in Jack and Jill is legitimately very funny, if nothing else.

Mayday Parade is the biggest example for me of a band I've seen a lot without seeking out much. I've seen them 12 times, but I've never seen them on a tour package where there wasn't another band I was more excited for. Also most of the times I've seen them are Riot Fest, Sad Summer, or Warped Tour. The new one is Sincere Engineer, since they're on everything, and if I count Deanna guest appearances at shows SE isn't playing, then it almost doubles. But to be fair, I do like them and her so I'm not mad!

Opinions on big boy? Cool hardcore tunes with trendy sounding interludes. Cool aesthetic. Too hyped? Legit?

So many 2020 tours lost, but I remember the biggest bummer for me was the cancelled Parkway Drive/Hatebreed/Knocked Loose/Fit For A King tour. Supposed to be Parkways first run in the states with their pyro setup. Sacramento was the first stop. Forever bummed about that one.
