Spam rocks. Spam musubis are excellent. Hawaiian plates with spam in them are great too. I think Hawaiian food is my favorite genre of food. I love treating myself to a big plate of Hawaiian curry chicken with all the fixings.

You know, I'm not ashamed to admit it, I love Spam. I don't eat it a lot, but when I do it's great. My breakfast for a few days this week was rice, spam and fried eggs, and it was so good. Perfectly cooked fluffy white rice, some spam seared in the pan first, and then 2 over easy fried eggs on top. I added some chili crisp and a little of this garlic / ginger Japanese barbeque sauce I have, plus some green onions or chives, and it's a great breakfast. Spam is constantly disrespected and underrated.

I can relate I’ve felt like there’s a huge emptiness inside of me for my entire life and anytime I found something I thought filled it (music, relationships, substances) it always turned out to be a temporary fix. On paper I have a very fulfilling life. I do not feel fulfilled

With the 'hiatus' aka nothing in North America in 2025 (EDIT - 24 or 25), they maybe have the demand... But personally, please no lol. I want all the bands I like to succeed, but outside of festivals, I don't just don't enjoy 'big' shows especially for bands I previously saw / wished I saw at intimate spaces. I caught the 1975 at an Arena and it was amazing, but that's about as big of a venue as I'd like to see them in. But the touring world doesn't revolve around me so we will see what happens.

When I saw Thrice live for the first time in 2009, on their tour with what was my favorite band at the time, they made my “favorite band” look like a garage band. Thrice was so damn good that I went from a casual fan (really loved Beggars) to a mega fan who dove into their whole discography. I’ve seen them live more than I’ve seen any other band. I think I’m about to see them for the 8th or 9th time. I’ve lost track to be honest.

Yeah, I 100% agree. Best that venue has ever sounded, and one of the best I've heard the band sound. What a time.

Just got back from the Atlanta show. I caved and looked at the setlist and i got mostly that, but in a different order. Some surpises on how it was sequnced and shuffled and if i recall (hazy right now), some songs dropped / added. GREAT show. Fantasic live, especially vocals.

This year was a big meh so going to skip. Not really a korn or system fan, and the undercard is underwhelming to say the least. I don't really get the appeal of composers at these fests and yeah, a lot of bands I've never heard of to be honest. I was expecting a lot more, but it seems to be well liked in general. I just want a good reason to go back to Vegas and sadly this isn't it.

I was somewhat struggling with dcc book 7, but im at the midway point, chapter 38, and just wow... i am hooked at this 5 chapter run or so, just insane and im annoyed my long work drive just ended and i have to wait to continue. 4 more car hours tomorrow though... Regarding bookshelves: I have the whole WOT in the paperbacks and they fit across one shelf perfectly except the prequel!! So annoying that one book has to go to the next shelf. My favorite and most prized are these Robin Hobb anniversary editions (from the UK). Gorgeous / well constructed pieces. Saw the Summer Set. Was pleasantly surprised by how big their crowd was. They did a fun cover of Mama Mia, which I’ve never seen from them or heard released. Headed over to see RJA on the Ghost stage which was seemingly having audio issues as it does nearly every year. They had a massive crowd but nearly nobody gave a crap until they played their two big hits. Also I’m very out of the loop but they have a screamer in their band now? Seems like they’ve had them for a while. Also, they surprisingly made 0 political comments unless I missed them being a few minutes late. Caught the first three Rocket Summer songs. Bryce sounded great. They’ve never been my cup of tea besides a few songs. Didn’t have the biggest crowd but whatever. Saw the last few Mayday Parade songs. They’re Mayday. They could do those songs in their sleep and did great. Boys Like Girls did fantastic as always. They’ve really been working their asses off since coming back and blazed though a dozen songs. Said they’re coming back for a 20 year tour next year. Never seen so may guitar picks thrown out before TSSF was fine. We watched them from afar. You’ll get Parker standing there and you’ll like it or not Yellowcard was next and was a fun time. An entire family showed up next to us of a mom and dad, 3 teenagers, and a 10 year old who were camping out for Avril so felt obliged to help them from the mayhem of this crowd and KL Saw Simple Plan next which… man. I like Simple Plan, especially the early stuff, but it’s their third WWWY and it’s the exact same stuff every time. My wife and I were over it Knocked Loose killed it to no surprise. This is about when we started seeing people that’d been camping out all day for Panic start to leave. Just mayhem Headed over to SYG who… unfortunately just never sound great live. It was fantastic to see them play after so long but they are not a festival band. Chiodos was next and killed it. They drew a big crowd and credit where credit was due. I don’t THINK they played to a backing track. If they did it wasn’t nearly as obvious as last year Headed over to TBS who had a massive crowd and sounded better than expected though it’s so clear that Adam’s voice is shot Went to Jack’s Mannequin who were very delayed by loathe going 10-15min over their set time. Chiodos ended on time on the same stage and the only band in between was Ice Nine Kills so idk who to blame but either Loathe or INK set off a chain reaction of delays. Jack’s went on 15min late and killed it. Sounded fantastic and Andrew is a charmer. They seemed to maybe cut a song to help make up time as it seemed like a shorter set letlive. was supposed to start at 8:35 and didn’t go on until about 8:45 but they also definitely overstayed as they played until about 9:30. They killed it as always. Jason was bleeding, climbed the stage, etc. Top three of the day for me were Jack’s, Letlive., and either BLG or KL We’re about to head back for day 2 Adding in that having 7/11 sponsor was a plus so I could go get free slurpees on a whim. Typical fest crowd with here and there issues. Had a guy next to us during BLG that was being an absolute dirtbag to his girlfriend? grabbing her tits, grabbing her ass, kissing her when she told him multiple times to stop. Then he started flipping her off from behind, poking her, leaning in and whispering just hateful stuff to her. That went on for about 20min straight. Unfortunately he ran a few deep and nobody around seemed to care, so I tipped off security and four of them rushed in and pulled him out of the crowd and were going to kick him out but the girlfriend unfortunately told them to let him go and after 5min and a stern warning they let him come back in. There was a skirmish during SYG and some folks passing out near the man stages. All typical festival stuff

This is hilarious as I saw a video of the 'running to the barricade' day 1, and the Panic fan who got their first asked them to play that song when they interviewed him. He said he was going home for day 2 and then they play it day 2 haha

To be honest, I just saw Blink live at a festival and I whined after it lol. The humor was awful and not in a 'self aware' or a nostalgic way, just cringe, and they're a pretty bad live band in my opinion. Though a caveat is that I'm not the biggest blink fan to begin with and I know it's all subjective, but it was a big let down for me. I saw partial bits at WWWY the last time, but I think I was elsewhere as well. I did VIP at this fest last year (after 2 years of GA) and it was 100% worth it. Skipped this year, but if sick sad new world is a good lineup, I'll do VIP for that. Both sets of tickets are expensive (GA and VIP) but I felt I got my moneys worth and overall had a better time in VIP for sure. Hope everyone who went had fun.
