I feel this hard. I can go to a show of my favorite band and barely know the words but I could 'play' the song in my end from beginning to end with the melody, the instrumental breaks, everything playing in my head perfectly. I know it all, I just don't know the words. Maybe comes from my inability / embarrassment to sing so I've never been someone who wants to sing along at a show.

I just got this for less than $300. Somebody else probably can validate if it's a good deal or not but I'm happy with it so far. Alienware - AW3225DM 32" VA LED Curved QHD 180Hz 1ms FreeSync Gaming Monitor with HDR (HDMI, DisplayPort) - Black

BMTH are also just a 'trendy' band that has fans from outside the genre and people paying for the experience that aren't typically into that genre, case in point with the absurd merch prices and lines that they had. They are an outlier. Again though, totally worth it, and I know they know their hype and work hard to justify it, and I felt I got my moneys worth (especially with the openers). I don't even really like Motionless in White but another solid set. The Plot In you make good music but are pretty boring live but not a bad band to have on the bill. I missed the opener.

The soap opera effect is TVs that make a 60hz signal out of a 30hz signal by interpolating frames. It’s usually a single toggle in settings to turn it off. On my LG it’s called clear motion. it’s so fucking awful.

I just know stubborn people who claim that I'm just not used to a good TV and it looks awesome. Plus not my house so I just leave it. But I have failed to get used to it.

It depends what you consider ridiculous but 2 things: 1) I paid $290 for 2 tickets in a very good section down by the floor and when sleep token came through in a similar sized venue, it was $400 for nosebleeds even at 'doors'. 2) It was ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. I thought this latest show they put on was incredible. It had everything... pyro, confetti, lights, lasers, different stage set ups, a great setlist, some funny interludes, graphics, crowd participation. They truly are going all out so $150 a head was worth it and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

This is where I'm at. I also feel like I'm crazy as no one in my life that I've tried to explain the soap opera effect to even cares or understands what it is. 2 of my best friends, and my parents TV drives me nuts as everything looks 'fake' and behind the scenes and way less immersive and I genuinely enjoy watching the same shows and movies on my much older and smaller TV. Video games probably wouldn't be a problem and I just upgraded from my laptop screen to a 32" and that's been amazing but again, it's a budget monitor so it's still not great but I just don't know what I'm missing out on to care. However - listen to the people that do know and not my ramblings.

I should’ve seen this coming, but I put Clair Osbcura down for a couple months and now I am having trouble getting back into it. I’ll give it a more serious attempt once I finish Alan Wake 2. What are some of your favorite cozy Halloween games? I wish The Haunted Chocolatier was out.

Ehhhh, the were a beloved band that went away too soon and now that they are back with essentially the OG lineup, I expect nothing but insanity at their shows. This is the same lineup that wrote Calculating Infinity…

I'm am old out of shape and haven't (really) moshed in 15 years. I'm not a fan of crowd killers, but having gone to shows for over 25 years I know what to expect. Would I like to be able to get close(r) to the action without getting hurt? Sure. But I find it extremely rare that it's impossible to find somewhere in the venue to enjoy the show from without being in harm's way.

Agreed with all of you.... I was not the one who was at the show so it doesn't really matter what I think LOL - I'm just not that surprised that Dillinger doesn't behave live in the same manner as they used to - for many number of reasons (social attitudes / safety / insurance / age of the band / age of the crowd etc). I wasn't there , so maybe they really did play tame AF. If I was able to catch them in a club or at a moderate sized fest, I'd expect the front to be pretty wild, but at a certain point the crowd would mellow out as people just observed, and that's where I'd stand.

Having a different opinion? No. Most shows I go to, I have a great time. People mosh, people crowd surf, the band hypes them up, it's great. There's normally a spot for me just adjacent to feel the energy but not take a stray elbow or a foot to the neck. My only point was that in 2025, I'm not surprised that Dillinger doesn't perform like they used to and keeps things a little more crowd safety conscious. Agree to disagree if you think every heavy show should be a wall to wall of chaos with no room for people to just listen without participating.

Helloelloallo replied to the thread Tour Tour Prediction and Speculation Thread.
Not tame, just a level of separation between the insanity and those there to observe it. Walking on peoples heads, recklessly jumping into the crowd and not encouraging proper crowd surfing and stage diving techniques, climbing stage equipment not designed to be climbed, breaking shit and encouraging the mosh and circle pits to extend to the areas that clearly aren't into it etc. I'm over all that behavior. I feel like if you're a Dillinger head who wants to get crazy, you'll find your bros and then you can have all the fun in the world together without even noticing the quiet patches around you.

I get this perspective 100% and I don't want to sound like one of those "if you don't want to get hit don't come to the show" type people. Believe me I've definitely done my share of shows in the balcony and in the back. I guess I've just always heard Dillinger's name being in the same vein as letlive. and Every Time I Die. And as someone who saw both of those bands before their breakups (and has seen videos of letlive.'s reunion farewell), I was expecting at least a little bit of onstage chaos from the band. Maybe not on the audience, but like the fire breathing? I almost thought that would be a guarantee.

I get it, but they're older, their fans are older, and maybe like me, they have realized that chaos and endangerment isn't all that cool anymore? It reminds me of the other day when I went to a DIY show with a decent up and coming heavy band, and it was all just crowd killers and people forcing everyone around them to be a part of the 'violence'. I was as far out the way as possible for the small venue and still caught some strays, got shoved across the room and spilled beer everywhere before a note even rang out, and got some intentional 'everyone is going to be moshing with me, even if you clearly don't want to be' hits. Call me old, but I'm over crowd killing and overly aggressive pits, and I dislike bands that want to force everyone to enjoy the music in whatever crazy way that gets them off. If your music is good enough, the pit heads will hit, and everyone else is already there and gave you their money, their time, their ears etc so just leave them alone? EDIT: Got a little off topic but I want to be able to go to heavy shows and enjoy it in my own way (and I think so do plenty of others), so hearing that Dillinger toned it down, isn't all that surprising, or unwelcome to me.

Buried in the sun is a banger but overall I really like the quieter moody songs, so Vesper Lights on West and Dandelion Wine on East are super standouts for me. I am a late comer to the Thrice reunion, and have really moved towards the more experimental, electronic, quieter, 'weird' stuff as I had no idea they were doing stuff like that.

I do believe survivors* actually. Fuck off. The main accusations from what I understand were intentionally fabricated and admitted by the accuser. We’re not doing this. I’m not gonna hold water for TOOL. It was a comment by me and multiple users that there was a comparison in sound. We weren’t telling people to listen to them.

I'm on 7 now and so of course I now need to find as much time as possible to continue on. This is great. I was expecting June from prior rumors (close but a little early) but Matt has such great productivity for a series that's got as sprawling as it has. I mean 8 books in 6 years?

This might be the first time I try to stay spoiler free for the tour. I’ve never had self control to avoid the setlist for anything. But between October 2021 (and the gap before that due to the pandemic) when I saw Manchester Orchestra and Thrice back to back weekends, I’ve only seen The Eras Tour in Tampa. Haven’t been to a show for my music in too long. I sold my Twenty One Pilots tickets that were for this Friday night. Just didn’t have it in me to go to a show alone and my 9 year old isn’t ready for that type of environment yet, even if he loves them.

Top 5 Soups 1. Pho (prefer chicken to beef) 2. Ramen (Shio ramen is top though any good ramen could take number 2) 3. Clam Chowder (New England only - not even interested in touching the Manhattan kind - yuck) 4. She-Crab Soup 5. Corn Chowder

Using sexual assault allegations as a cudgel against people you disagree with musically is kind of a bad look, you aren’t bringing it up because you care about victims you’re bringing it up because you don’t like the bands music. But do your thing
