I liked Together! Was iffy on it in the first half but was quite pleased by the end. Honestly expected it to go a bit harder with the body horror but the stuff they did lean into rocked

Watched all four I Know What You Did Last Summer movies earlier this week. That was something. I’ve never actually watched them before so I did enjoy the 90s teen slasher vibes of the first two. That’s a cozy place to live generally, but also Kevin Williamson is pretty 50/50 for me so a lot of his dialogue tends to take me out of whatever I’m watching. Chuckled and rolled my eyes pretty hard at “Dawson’s Beach.” I also found the killer’s motivation a little…muddled? Confusing? So he killed his dead daughter’s ex-boyfriend and then got hit by a car while standing in the road? Some of the audio in that first film was a little tough to discern so I was struggling to understand why exactly he killed his dead daughter’s ex? And what exactly did that have to do with the teens we were following, if anything? That direct to video third film was full of an awful lot of choices wow. Whoever their location scout was at least got them some beautiful locales, but said locale had absolutely nothing to do with a fishing town and a killer in a slicker. I also had no clue they’d chosen to turn the killer into a supernatural being so when that very sudden reveal came in the third act I let out a literal guffaw and sat there kind of speechless through the rest of it. The hook is his weapon, but also it’s the only thing that hurts him? Huh? And then they shove him into a thresher to kill him anyway? The legacy sequel was about what I expected it to be. I’ll give them credit though for pulling the trigger and doing the thing people have been speculating about with the Scream series for years. Silly movie, but I’ll admit I was all in on the Brandy teaser.

I remember Inhale Exhale! I saw them at least once. Oddly enough, the end of Backseat reminded me a little bit of Twelve Gauge Valentine!

I've cooled on this just a tad but still really enjoy it. It's tough to top something like WNHTBL tho. Stoked to catch them on tour later this month. Has anyone been to any stops so far?

Evening Star/Shatter and Burst is such a good way to kick off the record. The way the tempo picks up right before S&B crashes in. They're two parts of the same song imo.

I would say big swings, pretty clear to me they used the Stereo Grief EP as a launchpad for this. Lotta stuff here they wouldn't have tried last time. Even as someone relatively new to them, skimmed their back catalogue as additional review prep, they've levelled the fuck up again. The Will Putney Special™️ is the icing on the cake. I know he's been their go-to for a bit but he's got the sauce on this one.

How would yall say it compares to their previous work? Progression of the sound on Bright and Beautiful and then Stereo Grief? Are they taking any big swings on this, or is anything pretty wildly different for them?

Went to an Alamo Drafthouse Movie Party event last night for a screening of Scream. Got lots of fun goodies. We were instructed to wave our intestine streamers when Casey was seen hanging from the tree and no one did it. I regret my own hesitation haha. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]

Wandered into Hayden's stuff based on the Chat Pile collab. Listened to this straight through several times sitting out at a fire this weekend and it was so pleasant.
