Listening to some Box Car Racer today. Man I really wish they could have gotten that Birtish guy to swallow his food or at least stop chewing when he's saying his lines on cat like thief.

I think this album suffers more from a sequencing issue, rather than a songwriting issue. The songs themselves are very good

I don't disagree Yips is an odd choice to open the album when, Ask Someone Else is right there for the taking but I love me some Petey. Going to be spinning this alot over the summer. I am not a cowboy is a special one too.

I feel like I'm the opposite of most of this thread. This feels like a level up in terms of both songwriting and performance, but I only ever liked and didn't love USA. I think it's good, but it's missing that extra something that this has. Of the non pre-release tracks, I really enjoyed "Ask Someone Else", "Spirit Animal", "Stereoscope" and "I Am Not a Cowboy". "Ask Someone Else" I thought was particularly excellent. Got some Hotelier vibes from that track.

opening with the Yips is as weird as Isbell choosing to open Reunions with "What Have I Done to Help", one of the weaker songs on the album and its like 7 minutes long lol
