I think it's kinda disingenuous to say the band as a whole isn't a good live band. The ones playing instruments sound great and consistent every time I've seen a recent video. Even Adam seems to have improved recently, especially for the newer songs. Everybody has bad nights and yeah, things change as you get older, but John has stuck out as seemingly out of it for years. It feels weird to say "I hope it's just an attitude (not caring enough) thing and not a health thing" but that's where I'm at. Yeah I guess I am doing roundabouts, I just love these guys and want them to be good. They need whatever vocal exercises or coaching that Jim from JEW has, he sounds as good if not better now that 20 years ago.

Someone else mentioned the Deftones - they're going to need to start adjusting what they play because Chino's voice is finally getting rough and he can't hit the notes he used to. Here's something many bands do and TBS doesn't - change the key so it still sounds good and is in a range their vocalist can hit.

The roundabouts people are doing in here to avoid the plain truth that they just aren't a good live band anymore.

Four 152 songs in a 45 minute festival set is a wild move lol.

Did a bunch of streaming yesterday. The Sahara crowd needed to go so much harder for Peggy Gou. Justice set was absolutely phenomenal before I tapped out at 2:30 AM ET; unbelievable music and lighting.

This multi stage screen thing on YouTube is unbelievable. You can see 4 stages at a time and isolate the sound on one. Unbelievably cool.

The Goose x Trey Anastasio Band tour was all about this. It was like...3 drummers, 2 bassists, a bunch of guitarists, horns. I thought it sounded bad to be honest haha.

The line between ironic trolling and sincere shitiness has gotten way too blurred. Add in general entitlement, inferiority complex around the scene, mental illness, and drugs…yeah it’s a mess haha.

Jam fans are wildly judgmental. I like jam music plenty (I’ve seen Phish 109 times) but they are simultaneously very open and close minded, the latter especially with non-jam music. It has burnt me out on the scene pretty badly.

that's true haha - and honestly props to both them and goose. that'd be terrifying being up there with new people and having to improvise with them in front of a jam crowd.

The clavient jam was fun but yeah, a little repetitive. I am all for VW leaning more into jam but when you put them up with a band that’s a true jam band it’s gonna show.

29-30 minute Cape Cod jam when it wrapped. VW just left the stage so I’d presume that’s the end of the sit in unless they come back for the encore.

The sound is loud enough at Coachella that I never really hear talkers tbh Now I have bad memories of watching Radiohead for the first time (my #1 band) at Outside Lands 2016 and how bad the talking was there
