I think the biggest improvement this season is them circling around to more banter. Show is at its best when it’s the gang yelling at one another to prove absolutely moronic points lmao

Just got an email after signing up for the mailing list on her site that has this photo. Just added it as the art for the playlist I made.

Great song, the end rips. My slowed and reverb version already got flagged.

I saw this in the Hayley Williams thread recently too and it got me thinking ... why are we so quick to rank things from our favorite artists? I've lived with SILYMI since I was 18. That's like 24 years of my life. I won't know where this album sits, really sits, in the band's catalog pantheon for years. Living with it. Growing with it. Experiencing it. I struggle with seeing this race to declare things the best, the top, the worst, and all the context of what makes albums great being speed-run. Time! Experiences! Life! These are things that make albums great great. I worry all my music listening is now boiling down to needing to compare it to what I loved as a teenager. Is the new Yellowcard as good as Ocean Avenue?! I dunno man that album saved my fucking life when I was going through hell. How does The Starting Line match up to the album you played your entire freshman year of college? I'm, uh, 42 with a mortgage and a job while the world burns around me, like, one makes me feel like my life is in front of me and is connected to my skin and tissue? shake shake Ask again later?

This is my favorite since Purgatory. There are 2-3 tracks that don’t do much for me, but Eatin’ Big Time is like an instant top 5 Childers banger, and Cuttin’ Teeth, Oneida, Poachers, Getting to the Bottom, and Dirty Ought Trill are elite. The response from some of the country purists is so embarrassing lol. Tyler’s always been weird, he’s always been adventurous, progressive, all the things they’re taking issue with. And whether you like some of the production choices or not, the word “overproduced” needs to be retired. “Snipe Hunt” sounds like a garage rock song on purpose, obviously people who want Follow You to Virgie won’t like it but the people producing this album knew exactly what they were doing and it all sounds great to me.

Messages to me were tech always wins, phones are weapons, and COVID is when we cut the final strands holding together whatever shared sense of reality we had left at that point.

Eatin' Big Time and Bitin' List have been on repeat since Friday. What a fun album. This is right there with Country Squire for me, behind Purgatory of course.
