The Hobbit trilogy could be one episode for the one movie it should have been.

The Hobbits are way more interesting as commentaries than main feed eps imo

Illinois and Carrie & Lowell are like 1a and 1b for me. Can't think of another artist who has put out two masterpieces at that level.

I was listening this week. What a remarkable album. Can’t believe it’s 10 years.

I wanted a George Foreman grill so badly when I was a kid for reasons I really can’t understand. I finally got one in college and it ruled. RIP.

there’s a direct line between engaging with a review and exchanging reactions on a forum like this…social life emerges from engaging with art together. particularly a review like Nelson’s which is conversational and ecstatic

Sometimes it's fun or interesting to see a music journalist give their take. As someone who's done that to some degree for 16 years in 'literal nonsense' I'd recommend it sometime.

New Bermuda is the one for me, followed not too far behind by Infinite Granite. Sunbather and OCHL are right there on that next tier. I think Sunbather is generally overrated but that doesn't mean it's bad. Roads is last, but again it's not bad, there's just nothing they do on that album that they don't do better elsewhere in their discography so I rarely reach for it outside of discog runs. Also, shout out to "Black Brick", one of their best tracks: [MEDIA]

listened to all their records over the last couple of days — I think New Bermuda is my favorite. that one, sunbather, and ochl are really close for me. i love the other two though also. what a band!! i just think NB hits because it has a lot of sections that sound like appleseed cast to me and i like that lol

I think I found, and fixed, the issue with some images not uploading/being attached/shown in posts. (New phones are taking massive resolution images. Like 5000+ x 4000+. How the upload and image script was processing these was causing memory failures with these giant images. The new fix, if it works right, should first resize the image to a more reasonable size while still keeping good resolution, and then upload/process it. It worked with my test images; fingers crossed it doesn't mess anything else up.)

It had all four tempers in there. That’s just how they chose to represent her. She’s represented as a bride multiple times. I do believe he meets Natalie during one of the Cobel scenes in season 1.

Alternatively, if the entire point of the goats was to breed goats worthy enough for sacrifice, then I’m happy with that and cool with them not exploring the goat people any more

Also while asburd I loved the marching band sequence. This show finds hilarious ways to satirize corporate celebration culture. Pizza party? No full marching band.

Helly saying "Don't you mean Helly E" was the hardest line of television I've heard in a minute. After getting two seasons of essentially prison break I like this new angle of the chess game between Lumon and Helly R for next season. I also really want Irving to come back.

The more I think about the finale/season the more I like it. A lot of the complaints/criticisms feel like nitpicking or being worried about what happens next season when none of us have any clue what will happen. Or people complaining that what they thought should or would happen didn’t happen. I do think it should only go 1 maybe 2 seasons more though.
