Exactly! Gaudiness should still exist. We should still have movie stars! The monoculture was good!

I was in Aruba last week and went to a bar owned by a Canadian and had the best poutine of my life. They were also playing 2010s indie - awesome place

It's a mashup of James Blunt & Taylor Swift.

S2 is the best season of Mando. even if it was undone in future stories, it told an interesting story about questioning your religious conditioning while giving every episode's plot purpose for the grander mission of the season. half of season 1 is just introducing a few characters with minor relevance to the current plot (until some of them show up in future seasons) before getting back to the overarching story in episode 7. the show works better when it's not following a mission of the week format but also knows what to do with all of its loose threads, and S2 does this better than S1 and S3

Hell, I’d even look at Mando season 1 as a good example they should follow. Not every episode was a knock out, but it stood on its own and was a fun adventure of the week show. Season two is when it started to get bogged down by the need to cram it into the larger universe.

He did an interview on House of R where he said some really interesting things about the direction of Lucasfilm and that they're looking at interesting routes to take the franchise. I have hope it will be good but doubts it'll ever be this good again. I hope Starfighter surprises me because my expectations are in the center of the earth for that movie.

Like, I'm desperately hoping Star Wars is looking at Andor and Skeleton Crew as their canaries in the coalmine for storytelling. Either a fun space adventure for the whole family, or more robust, nuanced storytelling that really dives into the themes of the franchise.

Arc Ranking: 1. Ghorman Massacre 2. Narkina 5 3. Aldhani 4. Funeral 5. Final Arc 6. Ghorman I 7. Andor's Recruitment 8. Whatever the 1st arc of season 2 is

It’s easier for me to rank arcs than it is to rank seasons. My number 1 is the Ghorman massacre arc in S2 and number 2 is the Aldhani crew in season 1. In general I think season 1 is the more thrilling overall because the bulk of it is a heist movie followed by a prison break movie lol. But Season 2 feels richer and more interesting as it really gets deep into what a revolution looks like from every angle. The disadvantage of season 2 is that it needs to end by laying the track for a movie that already exists and so the ending suffers a bit from “putting the chess pieces where they’re supposed to be” — but even that was handled as perfectly as it could have been.

Both were perfect. Hope these creators get to make something else in this universe.

I probably like them equally. If the Mon stuff wasn’t so good in the first two episodes to make up for the Yavin stuff I may have said season 1. But the highs in both seasons are beyond anything we’ve had in Star Wars for me and we will probably never get anything as good ever again.

Can't believe that was Kate Winslet's daughter. She was fantastic in this. I think that it's more of a silly one but that doesn't mean it's a minor work. Wes once again proving he's one of a kind and anyone that thinks that A.I. can replicate his style is a fucking moron

Venue info for the tour up on their site: https://www.theidyllopus.com/tour They're playing a tiny bar in Chicago (cool) where the shows start at 10:00 PM (not cool). But if there's a band worth staying up way past my bedtime for, it's Adjy.

My buddy and I have been touring Scotland this week and today we hiked up to see the Aldhani Dam from S1. We would’ve gotten much closer but it started to downpour. There’s a steep climb at the start but the views of the dam and loch make it well worth the effort. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/scotland/argyll-and-bute/cruachan-dam
